Project Report Format for Minor Project

 Minor project report (Minimum 20 typed pages) to be created MS Word


(2016 or later) and should have the following:
1. Cover Page inside the Project Report (see sample)
2. Self-declaration by the candidate (see sample)
3. Certificate (see sample)
4. Acknowledgments (see sample)
5. Index / Content List: List chapters with their titles and page numbers
6. List of Figures and Tables: A table comprising of following columns:
Figure number (as 1, 2, 3…. ), caption, and the page number.
7. Acronyms / Short forms: list all the abbreviations used in the text
alongside their fully written unabbreviated form.
8. Abstract: a concise summary of the essential information of the work
being presented, namely of the study's scope, purpose and results. The
reference-free single spaced abstract
9. References: - List of Books & Research papers / News articles/ Web
links arranged alphabetically and chronologically as per IEEE format

 Submission
1. Submit two copies (Spiral bind) of Project Report to the
Supervisor/department.
2. Student can keep one personal copy.
3. Also provide a soft copy (MS Word / PDF) to the
Supervisor/Department as per instructions given by Supervisor /
Department.

 Instructions for preparing the report


1. Paper: Use paper 75gm/m² or better high-quality A4-size paper, with
printing on single side of the paper.
2. Printing: A high-quality laser printer (do not use other printers e.g.
inkjet) should be used for the final copy.
3. Fonts, Alignment and Font colour: Use Times New Roman for
English typing and Kruti Dev for Hindi typing with Justified
alignment, Font colour should be black. No other font colour is
permissible.
4. Headings: In disciplines where section numbering is normally used,
the following guidelines apply:
i. Chapter title: Font size 20, bold, Sentence case.

ii. Heading (Main heading): Font size 16, bold, Sentence case.
Begin text from new line.
5. Text Font: Times New Roman / Kruti Dev 12 point.
6. Page Layout:
i. Margins: Normal margins.
ii. Orientation: Portrait (for Tables and figures also)
iii. Size: A-4
7. Page Numbering: At the bottom of page in centre.
i. Cover page: Nil (No Page Number)
ii. Preliminary pages of the dissertation, viz., Self-declaration by the
candidate; Certificate; Acknowledgment; Index; List of Figures/
Tables/ Acronyms and Abstract i.e., those preceding the text
are to be numbered in Roman numerals (i, ii, iii, iv……).
iii. Pages of the text itself and of all items following the text should
be numbered consecutively throughout in Arabic numbers (1, 2,
3, 4……), beginning with number 1 on the first page of the first
chapter.
8. Tables and Figures:
i. Figures and tables should be inserted at the appropriate place in
the text.
ii. Figures must have numbers and captions under the figures.
iii. Tables must have their titles and numbers above.
9. Drawings: Any material which cannot be typed or computer generated
should be drawn with permanent black ink in neat and heavy lines.
Scanned images of drawings are acceptable. Always write the origin as
courtesy. If you pick up any drawing from internet / book / research
paper.
10.Photographs: High-clarity High quality photographs / scanned e-images
to be inserted into the project report text.
