Assessment 1: EDG1501 and EGP1501

Instructions:

(a) Create an engineering drawing per instructions (save this as a Drawing Files

PDF). Only where you are instructed to use Auto Desk Inventor.

(b) You are allowed to assume unclear dimensions or dimensions that are not given.

(c) Your final drawings should have the following, Title, scale and projection symbol.

(d) Once complete combine all questions to one PDF file and submit. See video below:

(f) Make sure your final PDF is not a read only file before you submit. Read only files

will not be marked.

(g) Make sure your scanned assignment is clear before submission.


Question 1:

Using proper printing (as shown in page 2-18) at a height of 5 mm, and a 2 mm space

between your sentences/lines. Print the following: [20]

1. I WILL DO BOTH ASSESSMENTS BECAUSE THEY ARE COMPULSORY

2. I WILL USE PROPER LETTERING TO WRITE ON MY DRAWINGS

3. I WILL ALWAYS DRAW A BOARDER LINE AS SHOWN IN PAGE 2-25

4. I WILL PRINT MY STUDENT NUMBER WITH INK ON EACH SHEET THAT I

SUBMIT

5. ONLY MY STUDENT NUMBER WILL BE IN INK

6. I WILL ARRANGE MY DRAWINGS IN SEQUENCE OR QUESTION ORDER ON AN

A3 FOLDED TO A4 SIZE

7. I WILL NOT USE CAD FOR DRAWING AND PRINTING

8. I WILL NOT EMAIL OR FAX MY ASSIGNMENTS

9. I WILL SUBMIT COMPLETE ORIGINAL ASSESSMENTS AND KEEP COPIES

10. I WILL READ MY TUTORIAL LETTER THOROUGHLY BEFORE STARTING WITH

ANY ASSESSMENTS

Question 2:

Refer to Appendix A and B redraw figures 2.1 to 2.3 and add 4 dimensions on each of your

figures, we recommend scale 1:1, however any scale will do, remember to print your scale

next to your drawings. Pay attention to your line work and line quality! [30]

Question 3:

Draw the isometric view of figure 3.1 and the oblique view of figure 3.2, in Appendix C,

using scale 1:1. [20]


Question 4:

Draw the front, top and left views of figure 4.1 according to third angle orthographic

projection. Arrow A shows the front view and arrow B the top view. Add 4 dimensions per

view. Use scale 1:1. Pay attention to your line work and line quality! [20]

Question 5:

Appendix D is two views in third angle orthographic projection an Adjuster Base. Draw

the top view and sections A-A, B-B and C-C according to third angle orthographic

projection. Add ten dimensions, projection symbol, title and scale. All rounds and fillets

are 3 mm. Use any scale that will work for you. [24]

Question 6 (only for EDG 1501 students):

Refer to question 5. Using Autodesk inventor answer or redo question 4 and 5. Submit

only a PDF file of the drawing. [40]
