These great salt pans, which stretch as far as the eye can see, form a harsh isolated landscape. Here you can meet the famous meerkat families and sleep out under the sky of a hundred thousand stars.

e CENTRAL KALAHARI
GAME RESERVE
One of the world's largest game reserves, it dominates the centre of Botswana and is one of the most remote places in Africa. The generally sparse game is seen in huge numbers shortly after the rains when large predators are spotted following the herds. Here is a good place to experience the skills of the San Bushmen.

e NORTHERN
Botswana's capital since Independence in 1966 and the fastest growing city in Africa. With original 1960s buildings standing next to futuristic modern developments, Gaborune is a fascinating mixture of traditional culture and 21st century amenities. Here you can take a trip to see all the favourite places of Mma Ramotswe, Botswana's famous No 1 Ladies Detective.

TULI GAME RESERVE

This northeastern corner boasts a terrain unlike any other, with sandstone cliffs and basalt formations, With historical and cultural attractions including archaeological sites and village tours to add to the rich concentrations of wildlife, this is a compelling destination to see the real Botswana. Here you can horse ride, bike, hike and even hot air balloon in the reserve.
