Investiture Script
Before the start of the program, the TROOP COMMITTEE MEMBERS should be in
their respective places on the stage, old member scouts, too, march ahead to the hall and occupy
the benches/chairs prepared for them. All remain standing. Candidates for membership in troop
formation are blindfolded with their neckerchiefs. Assigned troop leaders take charge of the
candidates who wait for to march forward signals. Then the colors,followed by drummers,
scouters, not very far behind them. The Colors proceed to their post and wait for the singing of
the Philippine National Anthem after the Invocation.
I NVO CATI O N
Lord, shower your blessings on us most specially our candidates who are to be invested
as members of our Troops and into the worldwide brotherhood of Scouting. We beseech you to
be with us during this investiture ceremony. May everything that we do help us to become better
scouts and better citizens and sons. We ask you, Lord, to give these young men the gift of
character that they may live their lives according to the scout life. Give them warm friendship
that will stand the test of difficulty and will result in a happy life. All of these, we ask you in the
name of Jesus. AMEN.
CEREMONY PROPER
SCOUTMASTER: (Stand behind Trefoil; LIGHTS OUT except for the BIG candles).
“Senior Patrol Leader, bring the candidates forward.”
(SPL brings candidates then retires to one side)
SCOUTMASTER: Candidates, remove blindfold and remove neckerchief; place it on your left
shoulder.
Candidates, you have presented yourselves before this body and asked to be
a member of (KAB, Boy, Senior) Scout? Is this your wish now?
SCOUTMASTER: In this ceremony, you will be accepted to our Scout unit and into the
brotherhood of scouting. Before you is a single lighted candle which
represents the SPIRIT of Scouting. As you become BOY SCOUT and
KAB SCOUTS, you will learn more of the scouting spirit. The Law
Of the Troops is the SCOUT LAW. It is known and followed by millions
Of scouts. You will learn to follow this law, too.
A Scout is LOYAL. A Scout is true to his family, friends, Scout Leaders, school, nation
and world community.
A Scout is KIND. A Scout understands there is strength in being gentle. He treats others
as he wants to be treated. He does not harm or kill anything without
reason.
A Scout is OBEDIENT. A Scout follows the rules of his family, school and troop. He obeys the
laws of his community and country. If he thinks these rules and laws
are unfair, he tries to have them changed in an orderly manner rather
than disobey them.
A Scout is CHEERFUL. A Scout looks for the bright side of life. He cheerfully does
tasks that come his way. He tries to make others happy.
A Scout is THRIFTY. A Scout works to pay his way to help others. He saves for the future.
He protects and conserves natural resources. He carefully uses his
time and property
A Scout is BRAVE. A Scout can face danger even if he is afraid. He has the courage to
stand for what he thinks is right even if others laugh at him or threaten
him.
A Scout is CLEAN. A Scout keeps his body and mind fit and clean. He goes around with
those who believe in living by these same ideals. He helps keep his
home and community clean.
SCOUTMASTER: “Candidates, you have heard the 12 points of the Scout Law. Do you accept
this law as scouts and do you promise to do your best to live by this law?
SCOUTMASTER: “Scouts also live by another code: THE SCOUT OATH. The Scout Oath
describes three (3) duties that every scout must accept. They are duty to
GOD AND COUNTRY, DUTY TO OTHER PEOPLE, AND DUTY TO
ONE’S SELF. I want you to make this promise publicly. Repeat after me as
we light the 3 candles to represent these duties.
“On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the
scout law, (light center candle), to help other people at all times, (light left candle) to keep
myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight (light right candle).
SCOUTMASTER: “Candidates, you have heard the words of the Scout Oath. Do you accept
the three duties it describes and do you pledge yourself to learn and follow
the Scout Oath?”
SCOUTMASTER: “Very well. Now,I direct your attention to the flag of our country. As
scouts, we have special feelings about the flag. We know what it means. We
learn to take care of it. We love and honor the nation it represents. I ask you
now to face and pledge your allegiance to it.”

Troop Leader:
The School Commissioner of Pasil Elementary School,
Mr. Jaymar Kevin A. Padayao. Ma’am, I have the honor
to present to you ______BOY SCOUT,___KAB
SCOUTS and _____ KID SCOUT of SUBA
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL who have satisfactorily
accomplished the requirements for membership expected
of them. They are now ready to become truly members
of the Troop.
“Candidates, please come up the stage to receive the final confirmation of
your acceptance to the Scout Units of Suba Elementary School.
Note: On the other side of the stage, members of the Troop Committee distribute membership
card and badge to each scout and shake hands.
SYMBOLISMS
TCM 1: In the _______Scouting program, you will be exploring life. Your leaders will help
you in any way they can but you must help yourselves. Let us listen to what the other members
of the troop committee have in store for us.
TCM 2: First of all, we, the members of the troop committee, are very happy to accept you
in our scouting units. We hope you will enjoy your scout life here in SUBA ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL. We convey our warm congratulations to you and to your loved ones especially your
parents. (PAUSE) Right here on the right are different objects that symbolizes what a real scout
should do.
