Operating Environment

Supported Operating Systems

Fusion Application Server supports the following operating systems:

CentOS 7

64-bit x86 Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Platform version 7

Disk Space for Logging

At least 1 GB of free disk space is required for logging.

Java

Java Package Supported Versions

Java SE Development Kit (JDK) Java 8 (1.8.0_60 and later)

Java Runtime Environment (JRE)

OpenJDK Java 8 (1.8.0_60 and later)

Each hardware platform hosting the Fusion Application Server requires the Oracle Java SE
Development Kit (JDK) or Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or OpenJDK which is provided from
CentOS platform. Ensure that you install the version of Java with the applicable word size for
your operating system; that is, install the 64 bit version of Java.

Unless they are required for a particular reason, it is recommended that you remove any older
versions of Java, and obtain the new installation packages from your chosen deployment-
platform manufacturer.

If you install Java from the platform manufacturer, ensure that the distribution is the standard
JDK or JRE, and is one of the supported versions listed above.

If you must add a later version of the JDK or JRE alongside an existing Java installation, ensure
that all paths to the new Java installation are correctly altered in the file /etc/jboss-as/jboss-
as.conf.

In addition, ensure that you use an appropriate RPM file.

We recommend that you do not change the existing paths to the older Java package because
this may adversely affect other platform-resident applications that depend on the earlier version
of Java.
