Our goal is to provide a course which is dynamic and practical and meets the
needs of the participants. With a team of highly experienced and qualified
tutors, Oxford TEFL’s DipTESOL course will help you to deepen your
theoretical knowledge of teaching and learning.

You will learn new approaches to teaching and have the opportunity to put
them into practice as the course progresses.

During the course, our aim is to encourage the support and sharing of ideas
between participants. To achieve this, we ensure that you are in regular
contact with each other in our virtual classroom.

You will be able to see and hear your colleagues as well as participate in
forum discussions on weekly modules throughout the course.

This highly practical course will help to open doors into different areas of the
ELT profession. Our graduates have gone on to become:

• Teacher trainers.
• Coursebook writers.
• Directors of Studies.
• Managers at major ELT publishers.
• And have even opened their own schools.

You will also have the opportunity to interact with well-known guest tutors,
including:

• Adrian Underhill
• Scott Thornbury
• Andrea Zakime
• Duncan Foord
• Ceri Jones
• Lindsay Clandfield
How the training works
The study phase
During the 6-month part-time study phase, we use a virtual classroom to
provide an interactive, supportive environment where all the course content
is stored in one place. The online classroom offers us opportunities to share
experiences and ideas with each other through participation in forum
discussions and webinars. You will work in a variety of groupings during the
online phase, including small groups of 4–5 teachers for online discussion
tasks, 8–10 teachers for live Zoom lessons. There are also pairwork tasks
and focus groups for specific areas of the course.

There are twenty, week-long modules which you are expected to contribute to
regularly, but the interaction is not scheduled, so you can log into the course

Course Format throughout the week to suit your own working day. Each week one of our tutors
will lead the module, interacting with you in forums and webinars to ensure
