Before using NVR, users first install the hard disk according to its capacity, then install NVR and connect other peripherals to NVR.
Improper battery replacement may cause explosion hazard, and users are not recommended to replace directly; If replacement is required,
only batteries of the same type or equivalent type can be used for replacement.
If you connect the product to the Internet, you need to bear your own risks, including but not limited to network attacks, hacker attacks,
virus infections, etc., and Hikvision will not be responsible for the product work abnormalities, information leakage and other problems
caused thereby, but the company will provide you with product related technical support in a timely manner.
NVR is a special monitoring device. Please pay attention to the following items when installing and using it:
Containers containing liquids (such as water cups) cannot be placed on the NVR.
Install the NVR in a well ventilated location. When installing multiple equipment, the spacing of equipment should be greater than 2cm.
Make NVR work within the allowable temperature (- 10 ℃~+55 ℃) and humidity (10%~90%).
When cleaning the equipment, please unplug the power cord and completely cut off the power.
The dust on the circuit board in NVR will cause short circuit after being affected with damp. Please use a soft brush to remove dust from
the circuit board, connector, chassis and chassis fan regularly. If the dirt is difficult to remove, you can use a neutral detergent diluted with
water to remove the dirt, and then wipe it dry.
When cleaning the equipment, do not use volatile solvents such as alcohol, benzene or thinner, and do not use strong or abrasive
cleaners, which will damage the surface coating.
Please purchase the NVR special hard disk recommended by the hard disk manufacturer from formal channels to ensure the quality and
use requirements of the hard disk.
After receiving the products, please open the packing box, take out the equipment, and confirm the packed products and accessories
according to the packing list in the box.
If you find that the items in the packaging box are damaged or any accessories are missing, please contact the dealer in a timely manner.
3.1 Installing the Hard Disk
The total capacity required for one NVR can be calculated according to the video recording requirements
(video type, storage time of video data).
For example, when the bit rate type is set to fixed bit rate, the file size generated per hour for each channel
according to different bit stream sizes is shown in Table 3-1.

3.2.1 Hard disk installation steps
Installation tools
A cross screwdriver.
Please use the NVR special SATA hard disk recommended by the hard disk manufacturer.
Before installation, please confirm that the power supply has been disconnected.
The maximum number of hard disks supported by different models of equipment is different. Please refer to "Chapter 7 Technical
Parameters" for details.

Chapter 4 Fluorite Cloud Service
"Fluorite Cloud" is a video service portal launched by Hikvision for home and enterprise users.
Through the video service of "Fluorite Cloud", you can easily view the real-time videos and historical videos of your apartments, villas,
shops, factories, offices and other places; Through the alarm service of "fluorite cloud", you can immediately receive the abnormal
information of the places you are concerned about, and take security measures at the first time. No matter where you are, your home and
business are around you.
Before installing the device, please connect your device network port to the network through the network cable. You can log in to the
official website of "Fluorite Cloud" www.ys7.com for detailed graphic and text steps, and click "Service and Download → Download
Center → User Manual and Upgrade Program" on the home page.

1. 1. User registration.
Enter the website www.ys7.com in the browser, enter the "Fluorite Cloud" portal page, click the "Register" button on the page, fill in the
registration information according to the prompts, click Next to obtain the mobile phone verification code after completion, and enter the
verification code obtained by the mobile phone to complete the registration. As shown in Figure 4-1.

you set a high-intensity password that meets the security specifications.
2. User login.
After registration, fill in the correct user name and password in the login interface and log in to the device management interface. Note:

“The client user of "fluorite cloud video" can quickly add devices by scanning the QR code of the

the "Live Video" link in the camera details to view the real-time video of the corresponding scene of

This step will be skipped automatically when the device is started for the first time and activated to enter the startup wizard.
If "Modify administrator password" is not checked, enter the administrator password and click "Next" directly.

If the device has enabled pattern unlocking, click the command button on the right of "Draw unlocking pattern" to enter

check the "Enable pattern unlocking" check box to enter the "Set unlocking pattern" interface for unlocking pattern
configuration.

The face detection function can be used to detect faces in the scene. The specific steps of NVR face

Cross boundary detection refers to that the cross boundary detection function can detect whether
there is an object in the video crossing the set warning surface, and give a linkage alarm according to
the judgment result.
The specific operation steps are as follows:

The personnel gathering detection function can detect that the density of the human body in the set
area exceeds the set threshold value, and then alarm according to the judgment results.
The specific operation steps are as follows:

Detection" configuration interface, as shown in Figure 5-162.
Step 2 Select "Personnel Gathering Detection" to enter the intelligent detection personnel gathering
detection configuration interface, as shown in Figure 5-183.

The fast motion detection function detects illegal running, road overspeed and other phenomena, and
detects fast moving phenomena. In case of rapid movement, the equipment will give an alarm to notify
the host machine of rapid movement, so that relevant personnel can give an early warning in advance.
The specific operation steps are as follows:
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → Channel Management → Intelligent Detection". Enter the "Intelligent
Detection" configuration interface, as shown in Figure 5-162.
Step 2 Select "Rapid motion detection" to enter the configuration interface of intelligent detection
rapid motion detection, as shown in Figure 5-185.

The parking detection function is used to detect illegal parking in the set area, which is applicable to
illegal parking detection on highways, one-way roads and other roads.

The object left detection function is used to detect whether there are objects left in the specific area
set. When there are objects left, relevant personnel can quickly handle the left objects.
The specific operation steps are as follows:
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → Channel Management → Intelligent Detection". Enter the "Intelligent
Detection" configuration interface, as shown in Figure 5-162.
Step 2 Select "Item Legacy Detection" to enter the configuration interface of intelligent detection item
legacy detection, as shown in Figure 5-189.
Step 3 Set up the channel that needs to detect the left objects.
Step 4 Check "Enable" to enable the detection of items left behind.

The object taking detection function is used to detect whether there is an object being taken in the
specific area set. When an object is found to be taken, relevant personnel can quickly take measures
against accidents to reduce losses. Object capture detection is often used in museums and other scenes
where objects need to be monitored.
The specific operation steps are as follows:
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → Channel Management → Intelligent Detection". Enter the "Intelligent
Detection" configuration interface, as shown in Figure 5-162.
Step 2 Select "Item Acquisition Detection" to enter the intelligent detection item acquisition detection
configuration interface, as shown in Figure 5-191.

The audio anomaly detection function is to detect the sound intensity, and realize the automatic early
warning function and linkage alarm for the change value of the microphone disconnected, exceeding a
certain sound intensity threshold or exceeding a certain sound mutation threshold.
The specific operation steps are as follows:
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → Channel Management → Intelligent Detection". Enter the "Intelligent
Detection" configuration interface, as shown in Figure 5-162.
Step 2 Select "Audio anomaly detection" to enter the configuration interface of intelligent detection
audio anomaly detection, as shown in Figure 5-193.

If the monitoring scene is changed due to external interference or man-made destruction of the
monitoring equipment, the monitoring system will not be able to operate effectively, thus exposing the
monitored scene to security risks. The scene change detection function can analyze whether the
monitored scene has changed. Once changed, an alarm will be triggered and linked.

One rule can be set for scene change detection.
2. Click "Rule Configuration".
Enter the "Rule Configuration" interface for scene change detection, as shown in Figure 5-198.
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → Intelligent Retrieval → Behavior Retrieval". Enter the "Behavior Search"

The device behavior retrieval supports the presentation of charts and lists. The interfaces are shown in

Step 3 Select the pictures and videos to be backed up, and click Backup. Enter the "Backup" interface,
as shown in Figure 5-203.

If it cannot be displayed after the USB device is connected, click "Refresh"; If the refresh fails, please
try to connect again; If it is still not detected, the backup device is incompatible with NVR. Please refer
to the List of Tested Backup Devices on our website.
If the format of the U disk and the mobile hard disk is incorrect, you can format them on the NVR.
Step 6
Click OK
Enter the "Backup Results" interface, as shown in Figure 5-205.
Step 7 Select the video file to be confirmed, click Play Video File to review and confirm the video file.

Automatically back up the player while backing up video files.

The device face retrieval supports two ways of presentation: chart and list. The interface is shown in

plates to be retrieved, the fusion of the information collected in the earlier stage for searching, and the
rapid location of the target license plate video file.
The specific operation steps are as follows:
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → Intelligent Retrieval → License Plate Retrieval". Enter the "License Plate
Retrieval" interface, as shown in Figure 5-209.
Step 2 Set the channel and time to be retrieved, and enter the license plate to be retrieved, as shown
in Figure 5-210.
Note:
Check "Backup pictures", "Backup videos" and "Backup license plate statistics" to back up the
selected pictures, video files and license plate statistics at the same time.
Click "Backup All" to back up all pictures, videos and license plate statistics.
License plate statistics include channel name, date, time and license plate number.
In the license plate retrieval chart interface, select a license plate and click "Search" to retrieve the
time point picture and video of the license plate.
If you need to confirm the video file, click to play the video file. Or select a video file or video chart,
and control playback through the control bar on the right side of the interface. See Table 5-12 for the
description of the playback control bar.
Step 4 Back up pictures and videos. The backup method is similar to that of face retrieval. Please refer
to "5.10.1 Behavior Retrieval" for details.
5.11 Alarm
5.11.1 Motion detection alarm
The specific operation steps are as follows:
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → Channel Management → Motion Detection". Enter the "Motion
Detection" interface, as shown in Figure 5-212.

The abnormal configuration is used to handle the alarm of abnormal events, including hard disk full
(when there is hard disk space full), hard disk error (when writing the hard disk or the hard disk is not
initialized), network disconnection (no network cable is connected), IP conflict, illegal access (wrong
user password), video recording exception (such as no video disk, etc.), etc.
Step 2 Set various abnormal parameters, including abnormal type, audible warning, upload center, etc.
When an alarm occurs, when it is in preview mode, the monitor or display connected through the local
output port (VGA/HDMI) switches to view the channel image of the "Pop up alarm screen" processing
mode.
Note;
The channel of the alarm screen needs to be set in the "trigger channel".
If alarm occurs in multiple channels, single screen switching shall be performed every 10 seconds
(by default, it can be modified through the "Alarm screen switching delay" item in the "Preview
configuration" interface).
If the alarm stops, the switching will be stopped and the preview screen will be restored.
Audible warning
When an alarm occurs, the device will emit a beep for warning.
In the listening mode, the alarm center can be set to upload the alarm information actively. See "Alarm
Center" for alarm center settings.
Step 3 select the alarm output number to be set, and set the alarm name and delay time.
Note
If "Manual Clear" is selected for delay, the alarm can only be cleared through the "Manual Operation →
Manual Alarm" menu in the main menu.
Step 4 Click the command button on the right of Processing Method.
Enter the alarm output deployment time interface, as shown in Figure 5-228.
Step 5 Set the deployment time period for this alarm output.
Select "Week" as a day of the week to configure this day.
Each time period cannot be crossed or included.
Eight time periods can be set in a single day.

When an alarm occurs, the alarm information will be sent to the user in the form of email to inform the
user of the occurrence of the alarm phenomenon in a timely manner.

5.12 Network
5.12.1 Basic configuration
Note
If the device is used for network monitoring, the network must be set for normal use. The factory
automatically obtains the IP address.
The specific operation steps are as follows:
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → System Configuration → Network Configuration".
Enter the "Basic Configuration" interface of network configuration, as shown in Figure 5-231.

PPPoE
The specific operation steps are as follows:
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → System Configuration → Network Configuration". Enter the "Basic
Configura
tion" interface of network configuration.
Step 2 Select the PPPoE property page.
Enter the "PPPoE" interface, as shown in Figure 5-232.

Step 3 Select Enable PPPoE, enter the user name, password and confirm.
Note
After successful setting, PPPoE status can be queried in "Network Status" under "System
Information".
PPPoE user name and password can be obtained from the operator. After setting, the device will
automatically dial after restart, and the network information can be displayed in the network status
after successful dialing.
Step 4 Click Apply to save the settings.
Platform access
The whole series supports access to three platforms, namely, "Fluorite Cloud", "Ehome" and
"GB28181".
Fluorite cloud
"Fluorite Cloud" provides a micro video service platform for home and enterprise users. Through the
video service of "Fluorite Cloud", users can easily view real-time videos, historical videos, alarm services
and other services, and provide users with comprehensive micro video application services such as
real-time viewing, remote care, and instant sharing.
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → System Configuration → Network Configuration". Enter the "Basic
Configuration" interface of network configuration.
Ehome
The Ehome protocol is a protocol independently developed by our company, which can realize the
connection between the Ehome platform and the equipment. You can perform preview, playback and
other functions on the Ehome platform.
Step 1 Before setting the Ehome connection through IE, please ensure that the relevant configuration
has been successfully performed on the platform.
Step 2 Select "Main Menu → System Configuration → Network Configuration". Enter the "Basic
Configuration" interface of network configuration.
Step 3 Select the "Platform Access" property page. Enter the "Platform Access" interface.
Select "Ehome" as the access type and tick "Enable", as shown in Figure 5-234.

Step 4 Enter "Access Server IP", "Access Server Port" and "Device ID". Please refer to Table 5-15 for
specific parameter descriptions.
Access server port The port number of the platform server. Setting range: 1024~65535.
Please refer to the actual provision of the platform.
GB28181
GB28181 is a national standard protocol for video monitoring industry based on SIP (signaling stream)
and RTP (RTCP) (media stream) protocols. After the settings are successful, the 28181 platform can be
connected to the device.
Step 4 Set platform parameters and equipment channel parameters. See Table 5-16 for specific
parameter descriptions.
Local SIP port The default value is 5060, and the setting range is 1025~65535. If you
want to modify, please refer to the actual platform.
SIP Server ID 20 bit ASCII. It is provided by the platform, that is, the ID of the
platform SIP server, 20 digits.
SIP Server Domain 31 bit ASCII.
SIP server address That is, the IP address of the platform SIP server. Only IPv4 addresses
are supported.
SIP server port That is, the port number of the platform SIP server. The default server
port is 5060, and the setting range is 1~65535. If you want to modify,
please refer to the actual platform.
SIP user It is provided by the platform, that is, the ID of the device, 20 digits.
authentication ID The equipment type is 111~118.
SIP user That is, the platform registration password. The default is 12345678, with a
authentication maximum of 31 characters. If you want to modify, please refer to the
password actual platform.
Registration validity Valid setting range: 100~100000, 3600 by default. The unit is second.
Heartbeat cycle Valid setting range: 5~3600, 60 by default. The unit is second.
Maximum Valid setting range: 3~255, default is 5. The unit is times.
heartbeat timeout
Speed type Options can be set: magnification and rate. Default multiplier.
Magnification When the speed type is set to multiplying power, the options
available through the drop-down box are: 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 4, 8, the
default is 2.
When the speed type is set to speed, it can be entered through
the text box. The default value is 2, and the unit is Kbps.
Alarm input code ID 28181 A format code, provided by the platform, is the ID of the
equipment alarm channel, 20 digits or blank. The device type is 134.
Video channel 28181 A format encoding is provided by the platform, that is, the ID
encoding ID of the device video channel, 20 digits or blank. The device type is 131
or 132.
If the "DDNS" type is peanut shell, please enter the user name and password applied on the peanut
shell domain name website and confirm, as shown in the figure5-239.
If the "DDNS" type is HiDDNS, please enter the server address and device domain name, as shown in
Figure 5-240.
− Server address: the address of the server that provides HiDDNS services.
− Device domain name: the device alias registered on the server.

Note
"Equipment domain name" can be named with letters, numbers or hyphens (-), and the first
character must be a lowercase English letter.
After the registration is successful, users can access it by using www.hik-online.com/device domain
name. For example, www.hik-online.com/test1234.
When the device uses the router to connect to the Internet, please ensure that the DNS server
address has been correctly filled in, otherwise the registration will fail.
SNMP
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is a network management standard based on TCP/IP
protocol family, which is used to manage communication lines and manage software and hardware
platforms produced by many manufacturers on the Internet. SNMP consists of a set of network
management standards, including an application layer protocol, a database model, and a set of
resource objects. The user can obtain the device parameters and receive the alarm abnormal
information of the device through SNMP protocol.
Port Mapping
The port mapping function is divided into two functions: UPNP and internal and external port mapping.
UPnP
The full name of UPnP is Universal Plug and Play. It enables the NAT conversion rules of UPnP, realizes
automatic port mapping, allows external computers to access intranet devices, and enables the
network to work efficiently.
Step 2 Select the Port Mapping property page. Enter the Port Mapping interface.
Note
Select "Manual" as the mapping type, and the user can select "Edit" to set the external port (the
port on the router); If it is automatic, an external port is randomly mapped (different from the internal
port).
Select the "More Configurations" property page to set internal HTTP, RTSP and service ports.
Step 2 Click the Enable UPnP option to enable the UPnP function.
Step 3 Click Refresh to check whether the connection and working status are normal, as shown in
Figure 5-245.

Alarm center
If an alarm center is set, when an alarm event or abnormal event occurs in the NVR, this signal can be
sent to the remote alarm host (PC with network video monitoring software installed).
The specific operation steps are as follows:
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → System Configuration → Network Configuration". Enter the "Basic
Configuration" interface of network configuration.
Select the More Configurations property page.
Step 2 Set the alarm host IP and port number.
Step 3 Set the alarm host IP and port number interface, as shown in Figure 5-247.

The port number of the alarm host must be consistent with the alarm monitoring port on the
network video monitoring software.
Note
The IP address of the alarm host is the IP address of the PC on which the remote network video
monitoring software is installed.
Multicast
The video screen is previewed through the network access device. If the upper limit of the device
access (128 channels) is exceeded, the video screen cannot be previewed. At this time, the multicast IP
address can be set for the device and the multicast protocol access method can be used to solve the
problem.
Caution
When adding devices to the network video monitoring software, the multicast group address must be
consistent with the multicast IP set on the device side.
Note
Multicast IP address is a Class D IP address. Its range is 224.0.0.0~239.255.255.255. It is recommended
to use 239.252.0.0~239.255.255.255.
Step 4 Click Apply to save the settings.
Note
RTSP port is required for network remote preview; Web pages need to use HTTP when providing
network remote services Port; The client needs to use the service port number.
The valid values of RTSP ports are 554, 1024~65535. The RTSP service port defaults to 554.
Service port setting range: 2000~65535. The service port defaults to 8000.
The HTTP port is the IE access port, and the default HTTP port is 80.
HTTPS port settings are not supported locally. If you need to enable and set HTTPS ports, you can
only set them remotely.
Mail Settings
The specific operation steps are as follows:
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → Configuration Management → Network Configuration".
Step 2 Enter the "Basic Configuration" interface of network configuration, as shown in Figure 5-231.
Set the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and DNS server of the device.
Caution
Please be sure to fill in "Preferred DNS Server".
The email test is successful, and the message "Test email sent successfully!" pops up The prompt
interface is shown in Figure 5-251.
If the email test fails, the message "Failed to send the test email, please check the parameters or
network status!" pops up Prompt interface, as shown in the figure
5-252.
Note
Check Auto Add IPC, and the device will automatically add online IPC that supports GB28181 protocol.
Enter the "Network Traffic" interface of network detection, as shown in Figure 5-254.

Step 3 In the Destination Address column, enter the address of the test.
Click Test to test the network delay and packet loss.
If the test is successful, the result of successfully connecting to the destination address will be
displayed, and the prompt interface is shown in Figure 5-256.
If the test fails, "Destination address unreachable!" pops up As shown in Figure 5-257.
Step 4 After the packet capture entry bar is completed, "Packet capture backup succeeded!" pops up
Prompt information is shown in Figure 5-259.
Step 3 The user can view the usage of the current system access bandwidth, and the network sends the
remaining, remote preview bandwidth and other resource statistics results, so that the user can master
the system network usage in real time.
Operating premise
The user has correctly installed the hard disk. Please refer to "3.2.2 Hard Disk Installation Procedures"
for the installation steps of the hard disk.
Operating Steps
The system supports the function of power on detection of uninitialized hard disk. If there is an
uninitialized hard disk in the device, the menu will prompt the user to initialize after the boot is
completed or the boot wizard is completed (when the boot wizard is started), as shown in Figure 5-261.
Note
DS-7800N-K1/C series, DS-7800N-K1 series, DS-7800N-K1/4P series, DS-N2-1000X series, DS-N2-1000XP
series has no advanced configuration function.
The quota storage mode can allocate the fixed storage capacity of each channel and reasonably allocate
the video storage space of each channel. The specific operation steps are as follows:
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → Hard Disk Management → Advanced Configuration". Enter the "Advanced
Configuration" interface, as shown in Figure 5-266.

If the settings of other channels are the same, click "Copy" to copy to other channels.
If the quota space is 0GB, all channels will share the total capacity of the hard disk.
5.13.3 Hard disk grouping management
Note
DS-7800N-K1/C series, DS-7800N-K1 series, DS-7800N-K1/4P series, DS-N2-1000X series, DS-N2-1000XP
series does not support hard disk grouping management.
Step 2 Select the hard disks that belong to the same disk group.
Enter the "Local Hard Disk Configuration" interface, as shown in Figure 5-269.

The disk group number of all hard disks is 1 by default.
Only one hard disk can be selected for setting at a time.
Click Yes to modify the disc pack and return to the upper menu.
Step 5 Select the Advanced Configuration property page.
Caution
Please ensure that each channel has at least one disc group associated with it, otherwise, when the
channel starts recording, abnormal recording will occur.
Hard Disk Properties
Note
Hard disk attributes: read-write, read-only and redundant.
Before setting, please select "Storage Mode Configuration" as "Disk Group" in "Advanced
Configuration".
In order to prevent important video data from being overwritten during cyclic recording, the hard
disk can be protected by setting it as "read-only".
Set the hard disk as "redundant", which can realize redundant recording in the redundant disk while
recording in the read-write disk, so as to improve the reliability of recording.
Step 2 Enter the "Local Hard Disk Configuration" interface, as shown in Figure 5-269.
Note
Only one hard disk can be selected for setting at a time.
Note
S.M.A.R.T detection function, which is enabled by default.
If the "When the self-assessment of the hard disk fails, continue to use the hard disk"□ is changed
to , then when the system detects SMART In case of exception, the hard disk will continue to be
used.
Caution
If the hard disk S.M.A.R.T fails, the hard disk can continue to be used, but there will be a greater risk.
Please choose carefully.
Step 2 Select Self Test Type and click. Perform S.M.A.R.T test.
Note
Self inspection types are divided into short type, extended type and transmission type.
The overall assessment status includes "good health", "there are a few bad sectors" and "failure is
imminent".
Self assessment status is divided into "passed" and "failed".
The user can use the S.M.A.R.T self check function and the S.M.A.R.T command to perform self
check on the hard disk to detect the overall state of the hard disk.
Step 2 Select the Hard Disk Number and the test area, and click Test. Start the bad track detection of
the current hard disk.
Note
The types of detection areas are divided into "critical area detection" and "complete detection".
Step 3 After the detection, the user can view the bad track of the hard disk, as shown in Figure 5-274.
When the device suddenly emits a constant alarm sound, the user can go to the hard disk management
interface to check whether the hard disk is lost. The specific operation steps are as follows:
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → Hard Disk Management → Basic Configuration". Enter the "Hard Disk
Information" interface, as shown in Figure 5-275.
Caution
If the user has canceled the audible warning of "hard disk error", the device (armed status) will not
generate an alarm when the hard disk is lost.
Step 2 Click , "Are you sure you want to delete this hard disk?" As shown in Figure 5-276.
Step 2 Select the Hard Disk Error type and handle it.
Note
The hard disk error alarm mode includes audible alarm, upload center, email sending, and trigger alarm
output. See "5.11.6 Alarm Handling" for specific settings.
Step 1 The device will be in the sleep state of the non working hard disk for a long time, so as to reduce
power consumption and prolong the service life of the hard disk.
Step 2 Users can choose not to hibernate all hard disks to keep them working. The specific operation
steps are as follows:
Select "Main Menu → Hard Disk Management → Advanced Configuration". Enter the "Advanced
Configuration" interface, as shown in Figure 5-266.
If you need not to enable it, uncheck "Enable hard disk hibernation" and click "Apply" to save.
Caution
If the "hard disk does not sleep" is enabled for a long time, the service life of the hard disk may be
reduced, and the power consumption of the device may increase. Please use with caution.
The hard disk hibernation mode is enabled by default.
5.13.7 Hard disk status query
According to the state of the hard disk, find the problem of the hard disk in time, and deal with the
problem hard disk to reduce the loss.
There are two ways to query the status of a hard disk:
Method 1:
Select "Main Menu → Hard Disk Management → Basic Configuration" to enter the "Basic
Configuration" interface of the hard disk management menu, as shown in the figure 5-278.
Note
The hard disk can only be used normally when it is in normal or dormant state. If the hard disk is
uninitialized or abnormal, it is abnormal; Please initialize the uninitialized or abnormal hard disk. If it
fails, please replace the hard disk.
Method 2:
Select "Main Menu → System Maintenance → System Information".
Select the "Hard Disk Status" property page to enter the "Hard Disk Status" interface of system
information, as shown in Figure 5-279.

If the hard disk is in an abnormal state, please go to the hard disk management menu for initialization.
If it fails, please replace the hard disk.

OSD includes channel name, date, week, date format, time format, OSD attribute, and OSD location.
Step 2 Check the name, model, serial number, master version and verification code of the equipment
for future maintenance or repair.

You can use IVMS mobile phone client to scan QR code to add devices to the client.

Network Status

The log search conditions that can be set include: log start time and end time, log type.
If more than 2000 logs are found, the system will display the first 2000 logs.

− Click "OK" to return to the log list interface.
If you want to view the recording of the log time point, please click.
If you need to export the log information in the list.
1) Select log information.
2) Click Export to open the Log Export interface, as shown in Figure 5-293.
3) Click Export to open the prompt interface of "Log Export Succeeded", as shown in Figure 5-294.
4) Select OK to view the log information export result, as shown in Figure 5-295.

Before exporting logs, make sure the backup device is connected. The log file is a txt text file named
after the log export time, such as 20140109105216logBack.txt.
When the user needs to export more than all log information, the one click export function can be used
to export all log information of the hard disk to the backup device.
Step 3 Select a backup device and click Export to start the backup. When the prompt "Backup
completed!" appears, the backup is completed. The Export Log Completion interface is shown in Figure
5-296.
Step 4 Select OK to view the log information export result, as shown in Figure 5-297.

The exported log file is a txt text file named after the log export time, such as

Export the configuration file of the device to facilitate timely backup of the configuration file. If multiple
devices adopt the same configuration, more configuration time can be saved through the "import"
operation.

Execute the import operation, and the device will restart.
FTP upgrade
Please place a PC host and device in the same LAN, use and configure FTP software on the PC host, and
start FTP Services.
The specific operation steps are as follows:
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → System Maintenance → Version Upgrade".
Enter the "Local Upgrade" interface of version upgrade.
Step 2 Select the FTP property page.
Enter the "FTP" interface of version upgrade, as shown in Figure 5-300.
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → System Maintenance → Default Configuration". Enter the "Default
Configuration" interface, as shown in Figure 5-301.

Step 2 Select the default configuration type.
If "Restore default parameters" is selected, after this operation, all parameters except IP address,
subnet mask, default gateway, MTU and server port number will be restored to the default parameters
when the equipment leaves the factory.
If "Restore factory settings" is selected, all parameters will be restored to factory parameters.
If "Restore inactive status" is selected, the admin password will be restored to null, and all users
created will be deleted.
Step 3 When a prompt pops up, select "Yes" to restart the device.
Note
After the default configuration, some or all parameters will be restored to default. Please use this
function with caution.
DS-7800N-K1/C series, DS-7800N-K1/4P series, DS-7808/16N-K2, DS-N2-1000XP series
DS-N2-2008/16X supports pressing the key to restore the inactive state of the device. Press and hold
the Reset button for 10 seconds, and the device will resume its inactive state after restart. The Reset
key is shown in Figure 5-302. The position of DS-7800N-K1/C series Reset key on the motherboard is
shown in Figure 5-303; The position of DS-7800N-K1/4P series and DS-N2-1000XP series Reset keys on
the motherboard is shown in Figure 5-304; The position of the Reset key of DS-7808/16N-K2 and
DS-N2-2008/16X on the motherboard is shown in Figure 5-305. The motherboard is located in the
chassis. Please refer to "3.2.2 Hard Disk Installation Steps" for the method of opening the chassis.
Step 2 Set the output resolution and mouse movement speed of the device.
Note
VGA/HDMI resolution shall be consistent with the actual output screen resolution.
DS-7800N-K1 series, DS-7800N-K1/4P series, DS-7800N-K2 series, DS-7800N-K2/P series,
DS-7900N-K4 series, DS-7900N-K4/P series, DS-N2-1000X series, DS-N2-1000XP series, DS-N2-2000X
series, DS-N2-2000XP series, DS-N2-4000X series, DS-N2-4000XP series, HDMI output supports 4K
ultra-high definition display, and the VGA/HDMI resolution is 4K (3840 × 2160)/30Hz, the VGA output
port will not output pictures.
The mouse pointer can move at four speeds.
If the boot wizard and operation password are not enabled, please change to .
If you do not start the operation password, please change to , and the prompt interface
"Closing the operation password is a security risk, do you want to continue?" will pop up. If you are sure
to close, please select "Yes". Closing the operation password is a security risk. Please take care to close.
Caution
The administrator should properly configure the user permissions, and it is recommended to use
user-defined users for management in daily maintenance.
In order to improve the security of the product network, please update the password of the product
regularly. It is recommended to update and maintain it every 3 months. If the product has high safety
requirements for the use environment, it is recommended to update it monthly or weekly.
It is recommended that the administrator manage the device account and user permissions
effectively, delete irrelevant users and permissions, and close unnecessary network ports.
When the user enters an incorrect password, the device will have a lock message reminder; The
admin user enters the wrong password 7 times in a row or the ordinary user enters the wrong
password 5 times in a row (if the wrong password is entered twice for more than 3 minutes, the
number will be counted again), and the device will automatically enter the locked state. Automatic
unlocking after 1 minute.
Add Users
The specific operation steps are as follows:
Step 1 Select "Main Menu → Configuration Management → User Configuration". Enter the "User
Configuration" interface, as shown in Figure 5-309.
Note
The user name cannot be invalid when adding users, such as "admin" or "root".
Add up to 31 users.
Step 3 Edit the new user information and select the level.
Naming support English, digital and Chinese.
The password is composed of two or more combinations of 8-16 digit numbers, lower case letters,
upper case letters or special characters.
Passwords are divided into three levels: weak, medium and strong. In order to protect your personal
privacy and enterprise data, and avoid network security problems of the device, it is recommended that
you set a high-intensity password that meets the security specifications.
The user level has two levels: ordinary user and operator. The default permissions of the two levels
are different (in the default permissions of "remote configuration", the operator has the permission of
"voice intercom", while the ordinary user does not; in the permission of "channel configuration", the
operator has all permissions, and the ordinary user only has the permission of local playback and
remote playback).
User MAC address: refers to the physical address of the PC management host that remotely
accesses NVR. If this parameter is set, only the remote PC management host with this physical address
can access this NVR.
Step 4 Click OK.
Save and return to the "User Management" interface, as shown in Figure 5-311.

− Remote manual operation: Remote manual start/stop of video recording. This permission is detailed
to each channel.
− Local playback: local playback of video files recorded on NVR. This permission is detailed to each
channel.
− Remote playback: Remote playback and downloading of video files recorded on NVR. This permission
is detailed to each channel.
− Local PTZ control: Local PTZ control, which is detailed to each channel.
− Remote PTZ control: remote control PTZ, which is detailed to each channel.
− Local backup: backup the video files recorded on NVR locally, and this permission is detailed to each
channel. The channel with local backup permission must have local playback permission.

Only the admin administrator has the authority to "restore default parameters".
The channel configuration supports the separate setting of permissions for a channel.
Delete user
The specific operation steps are as follows:

Ordinary users or operators need to configure local management authority to change their

Caution
When the system prompts "The system is shutting down...", please do not press the "On key" of the
power supply.
When the equipment is running (especially when recording), do not force the power off (that is,
directly disconnect the power supply).
Step 2 Click Shut Down, and the "Are you sure to shut down the system?" pop up Prompt window.
Step 3 Click Yes to shut down the device.
Note
DS-7800 series, DS-N2-1000 series, and DS-N2-2000 series devices will prompt "Please turn off the
power!" after the system is turned off, Please turn off the power and complete the device shutdown.
Note
After the system is logged out, it will return to the preview state. When entering the menu again, you
need to verify the username and password.
6.1 Introduction
The product is embedded with a web server, which supports remote web access. After the device is
connected to the network, the user enters the IP address of the device in the browser address bar to
achieve remote WEB access.
Note
At present, WEB controls support simplified Chinese and English.
After installing the WEB control, it supports Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and other
browsers to access.
6.2 Login
Caution
When the user enters an incorrect password, the device will have a lock message reminder; The admin
user enters the wrong password 7 times or the ordinary user enters the wrong password 5 times (if the
wrong password is entered twice for more than 3 minutes, the number will be counted again), and the
device will automatically enter the locked state. The lock will be released automatically after 30
minutes.
Users can access the IE control interface of the device through multiple PC terminals at the same time.
6.3 Preview
After successful login, the preview interface is displayed by default, as shown in Figure 6-2.
