TITLE: THE FOUR SISTERS AND A WEDDING

Film Intro The Four Sisters and the Wedding is directed by Cathy
Garcia Molina. It is a Filipino family drama -comedy film
released in 2013. It focuses on the story of Four siblings who
come together to organize the wedding of their younger
brother. The film tackle's themes of family, love, and
camaraderie amidst trials and conflicts. The four siblings each
have distinct personalities and struggles in their lives, leading
to chaos and humor. Despite their differences and conflicts,
the movie highlights the importance of unity and love within
the family. It's an emotionally charged film that inspires and
entertains viewers while imparting lessons about life and
family.
Plot Summary When his sisters found out that their younger brother CJ
(Enchong Dee) was getting married to his girlfriend, Princess
Bayag (Angeline Quinto), they immediately went home
because they were against it, especially since they had
probably only been dating for 4 months. So, his sisters
planned how they could prevent their brother from marrying
his girlfriend. Upon meeting Princess's family, Princess's
father asked CJ to sign the prenuptial agreement. This
surprised CJ's sisters, prompting them to decide to stop the
impending wedding. The sisters united to discuss their plan to
halt the wedding, despite having issues with each other.
Eventually, they forgave and forgot for the sake of their
brother's well-being.

Setting Spotlight The setting spotlight of the movie The Four Sisters and a
Wedding revolves around the Philippines, particularly in
Manila and the province of Albay. It takes place in their
hometown in Albay. We all know that when we go back to
our hometown it's like we are going back to our childhood.
We can feel the nostalgic vibes because of the memorable
things that happened to us and at the same time being with
your whole family. This hometown setting serves as a symbol
of family roots, tradition, and the unique dynamics that shape
the relationships among the characters.
Character Limelight Teddie (Toni Gonzaga) she's good at acting because it's so
natural and she was the one who made the audience cry, he
worked in bait as an assistant, waitress, and housekeeper in
Spain.

Bobbie (Bea Alonzo) didn't think she could tame Trixie

because she was a very naughty child and didn't like her,
Bobbie was a very stubborn person who worked in New York
and was a corporate communications manager. In the iconic
confronting scene, it was only one take with multiple
different cameras around her and delivered her lines without a
single mistake. This woman really is something else, the way
she has this kind of acting skills is super legendary even if
she does a different scene, role and line. She is still Bea
Alonzo. She did a great job of giving justice to her character.
Alex (Angel Locsin) is the black sheep of the family because
she prefers to find a racket instead of being with her family.
She's an independent woman doing her gigs as an assistant
film director. She is also good at acting and she did give
justice to her character as a badass and cold daughter. Not to
mention her iconic line "chararat".

Gabbie (Shaina Magdayao) did nothing but understand her

sibling's fight. Whenever her siblings fought, she said nothing
but "sister, it's okay" she always intervened in the sisters'
fights, that's why she grew up like that. The disciplinarian of
the family. She did give justice to her character as an
understanding sister and a mother to her siblings.
Likes and Dislikes For me I like the part where even in the middle of chaos, The
four sisters beautifully portray the power of forgiveness,
understanding, and reconciliation. As the wedding day draws
near, the Salazar sisters are forced to confront their
differences and confront the demons of their past. Through
heartfelt conversations, shared memories, and moments of
vulnerability, they begin to heal old wounds and rebuild the
bonds that once held them together. Also, the moments come
when the sisters set aside their egos and grievances, realizing
that their love for each other transcends any disagreement or
misunderstanding. In a touching display of solidarity, they
come together to support their brother's wedding.

I dislike the part when favoritism show. this movie showed is

favoritism. it showed the damages it causes. The un-favorites
obviously feel rejected, passed over, generally know they’re
second-class in their own homes. But the favorite also carries
a heavy weight because of the pressure to perform according
to the projections of the parent. Even worse, this obvious
favoritism would drive a wedge between the siblings because
they became competitors for their parent’s love. The movie
acknowledges the damage that favoritism causes, but seems
to take the common position that says, “It’s okay to have
favorites as long as you provide for everyone’s physical and
material needs.” I don’t hold that against the movie, since it’s
a movie after all, not a theological treatise. But I will say that
that mindset is just wrong. I hate favoritism. It messes with
everyone involved. Often, it’s caused by selfishness on the
part of the parents who project their desires and preferences
onto their children.

Lesson Learned The lesson I learned from the movie The Four Sisters and the
Wedding is that we should learn to tell our parents how we
feel because this is also one of the reasons why we feel that
our parents don't love us and there is always
misunderstanding between the parents and their children. We
should also not lie to our parents just to make them proud of
us, but let's tell and show them the real you because it is your
own family. They will know you better than you know
yourself. Their mother said in the show that she is not perfect,
but she is their mother, she just means that no matter what
you achieve in life, she will still be proud of you because she
is your mother, and she will understand you because she
loves you.

Recommendations The film has a very clear message, and the characters portray
their roles well. If you watch it, you won't regret it because
this movie is not only for families, but I know that everyone
can relate, especially in the scenes that will really tug your
heart. You can feel that you want to watch it again because it
is not only famous for its iconic lines but because of the many
lessons we can learn from it. The movie is not boring because
it doesn't focus more on drama, but they mixed it with
comedy that will really get your attention.
