7 This is a foundational statement. So we must look into what the symbols, emblems, customs, and traditions are to see if they are Biblically based.
When I first saw this statement, the question arises, faithful unto WHO? Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. Who are Trisigs suffering for? Are the believing Trisigs aware of this problem? Dying for SSS and Christ are two different things.
Death to all that is wrong! When you see statements like this, relative morality is always the object. What is the basis of wrongdoing? What is the bar of morality; The Bible, The Koran, Sigma Sigma Sigma, etc.?
What kind of wisdom are they discussing here? If wisdom is greater than human intellect, it must come from a higher being. Lets see if we have a match to the Bible.
39 Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. I Corinthians 1:18-24 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. It is obvious that they are discussing some form of esoteric wisdom. If they were discussing Godly wisdom, why not simply say so? Instead, they leave it neutral. They discuss another powerful word, truth. What truth? The key to see that it is not Biblical wisdom being discussed here is the phrase, what is NOW hidden from your understanding. If what was hidden was Jesus Christ, I would have no problem. But the rest of the ritual does not have Him as the hidden wisdom, truth, etc. THIS IS WHY CHRISTIANS SHOULD LOOK BEFORE THEY LEAP!!!!!!!!
39 Jesus said that we must DENY ourselves and follow after Him. What is good and pure and just? Self-Control and highest will power are the ingredients of humanism. Humanism is a nutshell is mans ability to function and prosper without God.
39 Now who is this radiant guide for your faith? Who is this she? What is this light in her hand? Biblical faith has nothing to do with what is mentioned here. The object of the Christians faith is to be Christ alone. Faith does not lead one in dutys path. It leads one to their knees in repentance for being a sinner.
40 Hope in whom? According to SSS, its not Jesus Christ. So how will one SURELY enter into eternal life without Jesus Christ? Well according to SSS, He is not necessary. THIS IS WHERE I DRAW THE LINE. People like to say that I condemn people to hell for simply being Greek, while they tell people hoping in anything will get you to heaven.
40 The scripture is valid in and of itself, but does SSS itself follow it. See the examples above, especially the one about hope. This is what makes Satan so dangerous. Taking Gods Word and mixing it with his demonic philosophy.
41 True love obeys Gods Word and His teachings on love, not an organizations opinion. Now we have one of the most powerful scriptures read to us about love, but look at what happens next. TRUE LOVE DOES NOT HAVE US DISOBEY GOD.
This oath is taken in direct violation of scripture, for they have sworn upon something, their honor. What if a practicing Wiccan is taking the oath. Who is God then? Does a Jewish girl believe the Holy Bible? Look at all the MYs; I would be alarmed by this much latitude in behavior. With all of this, you cant judge me mentality floating around, who determines bad conduct? When a SSS uses profanity, what happens? When a SSS is having an intimate relationship with her boyfriend, is she fulfilling her duty to her sorority and God? What am I saying? People are swearing to things they cannot keep under their own power (i.e. they are doomed to fail the oath). Commentary There is no reason to consider that solemn oaths in a court of justice, or on other proper occasions, are wrong, provided they are taken with due reverence. But all oaths taken without necessity, or in common conversation, must be sinful, as well as all those expressions which are appeals to God, though persons think thereby to evade the guilt of swearing. The worse men are, the less they are bound by oaths; the better they are, the
less there is need for them. The relativity of such an oath does not ensure making you a better person. Who is God once again? What bonds of friendship does one acquire from a ritual of secrecy? I always thought that friendship was a choice.
Love! Where did this love spring from? Can true love spring forth from a secret ceremony? Well in the arena of tolerance and opinions, where someone can hate your God, and still be called your sister and friend is truly forced hypocrisy at its best.
43 As I said, faithful unto death points toward the sorority, not Jesus Christ. What good is a sinner dying for a sinner?
44 The SELF!!!!!!!! When you see this, run for the hills, humanism and religious tolerance is not far behind. What good is faith, hope, and love under the firm control of a demonic spirit? This is where religious relativism plays havoc on the believer, especially the new believer. There are many wolves in Greek Organization clothing.
48 Now one can see why secrecy, not love is the real cement that holds these organizations together. Everything about the organization is to lead you back to the organization (i.e. to make it an idol). All images are taken from the ritual of Sigma Sigma Sigma.
