EG Notes

1.Drafting Settings
Sanp On Spacing-->0.25(F7 to toggle)
Grid On Spacing-->0.25(Curser Stops only at given snap space)(F9 to toggle)
Grid Style-->2D Model Space
0.25 Autocad Unit = 25 mm = 4 Grid Space
PDMODE --> Specify how the point should look like if 0 then just point
if 2 then plus if 3 then cross and 4 then line.PDSIZE is size of this
point.

2.Commands in AutoCAD
SHAPES
2.1.1 LIMIT --> Sets lower and upper limit to the screen
2.1.2 ZOOM --> Zooms the screen in specific arrengment
2.1.3 LINE --> Ask for a start point and an end point and creates a line joining
them
2.1.4 ARC --> Select a centre point and then two points start and end
point(Always drawn in ACW Direction by default)(To change direction to CW press
ctrl)
2.1.5 CIRCLE/C --> Select Centre and Diameter(most common) Or 3P/2P form can also
be used
2.1.6 ELLIPSE --> Select the start of first axis then lenth of first axis and then
the length of other aixs
2.1.7 POLYGON --> Write No. of Sides then Edge method(e) then specify the start of
first side then length
2.1.8 POINT --> Makes a point wherever you click on grid
2.1.9 PLINE --> Simillar to line tool but each line is connected and the shape
formed is a single entity
2.1.10 OFFSET --> Choose through(T) and then select the shape/entity and move
curser to create a new offset

PROPERTIES
2.2.1 ERASE --> Select the object to erase
2.2.2 TRIM --> Select the cutting edge and then the object which we have to trim
2.2.3 EXTEND --> Select the object upto which we have to extend then select the
object to extend
2.2.4 UNDO --> just goes one step behind(Ctrl + Z)
2.2.5 DTEXT --> Select the point on which we have to write then text height and
then the text(Press Enter 2 times to come out of it)
2.2.6 HATCH --> to fill a shape preference selector pop-up box for changing style
(Standard pattern is ANSI131) then select the shape then close
2.2.7 COPY --> Select the object and displace it to position where it should be
kept(new object is created)
2.2.8 MOVE --> Select object and displace it(original object moves)
2.2.9 ROTATE --> Select the object then the base point about which it is to be
rotated and then type angle(ACW)
2.2.10 MIRROR --> Select the object and select location of mirror(start and end
point of mirror) then choose whether to erase orignal object or not
2.2.11 ARRAYCLASSIC/ARRAY --> (Rectangular)choose window(w) and then choose the
object in the pop up choose no. of rows and colomns and distance between each
column/row(offset)
--> (Polar)choose window(w) and then choose the object
in the pop up write total no. of object and total Angle then choose center of Array
2.2.12 CHANGE/CH --> Choose the object and a pop up will come in which we can style
our object
2.2.13 EXPLODE --> Select an entity it will be broken into single line figure
2.2.14 PEDIT --> Select a line,then yes and then choose join option then choose all
the lines which you what to join then press enter it will be converted into a
single entity
2.2.15 DIVIDE --> Select the line and enter no. of section(equally divided)
2.2.16 MEASURE --> Select the line and enter the distace by which you have to cut
it
2.2.17 OOPS --> Restores the object erase by last erase command

DIMENSIONING(First go to Dimension mode by DIM)


2.3.1 VER/HOR --> select the start and then end point and text size(It will
vertically/horizaontally label the measurement)
2.3.2 ALI --> select start amd then end point and text size(it will be displayed in
the same angle as we choose and label it)
2.3.3 RAD/DIM --> select the arc on circle it will dispaly radius/diameter
2.3.4 ANG --> Select 2 lines and it will show the angle betweem them
2.3.5 BASELINE --> ???
2.3.6 ORDINATE --> Select a point it will give its ordinate then type text which
you what to show

3.OSnap Commands

3.1 END -> choose end of the entity by making a box near the edge wherever we
hover.
3.2 PER -> whenever the line we make is tanget or perpendicular to any entity it
will show a L curser wherever we hover end line point.
3.3 MID -> choose mid point of line by showing a triangle curser whenever we hover.
3.4 INT -> choose the intersection of two lines by showing a X(Cross curser)
whenever we hover.
3.5 NODE
3.6 CENTER -> choose the center of entity whenever we hover on an entity.
