Thematic Analysis Write-Up Assignment - Qualitative Analysis

The response should be 1000 words excluding references and an appendix.

The following learning outcomes for the module apply to this assignment:

• Use thematic analysis to analyse qualitative data.


• Interpret and write up their results using the correct format relevant to their analysis method (s) to answer a
given research question.

Complete a thematic analysis on the topic of puppy weaning using the first 12 posts (see attached forum file) on this
discussion forum as your dataset. You will need to write up the process and your results in the style of a report.

Instructions Using the dataset, you will need to:


• Use Braun and Clarke thematic analysis - 6 steps process
• Create a research question you can analyse using the data provided.
• Identify your research position (Realist / Phenomenological / Social Constructionist).
• Conduct your thematic analysis and write this up, including your tables of codes and themes (note, you may
wish to put an abridged version in the main body of your report, but please include the full tables in an
Appendix).
• Outline Braun and Clarke TA (6 steps process)

Other requirements
- Use British English
- USE APA Referencing referenced not older than 2013
- Do not use references from online sites
- Do not use / copy from GPT chat or similar AI. This will be strinctly checked.

You need to provide how you code your transcript and developed 2d order codes and add this to appendix. Elaborate on
grouping certain themes together that convey similar meanings. Provide a balance between themes and quotes.

In your introduction focus on outlining the importance of thematic analysis.

Research position needs to be clearly justified in method section. Also, elaborate on your participants, procedure etc.

You can use Nvivo or Taguette or do initial coding and create themes or you can do it manually.
