Method Statement for Canopy Structure Assembling

Purpose and scope


 To assemble the Pre-fabricated canopy structure at workstations following all Health,
safety and environment standards and as per client requirement.

Method of work
 The roof truss should be carried to the column with the help of the crane.
 The roof truss is lifted and transferred near to the column and install into the column with
the help of M16 nuts and bolts.
 Tighten the bolts for eradicating any movement of truss.
 Likewise each column is installed with 2 roof trusses and bolts are tightened.

Risk assessment
 Improper material handling may cause serious injury.
 Slip, trip and fall of hand tool or roof truss may cause serious injury.
 Collision with vehicles like crane.

Control Measure
 Provide appropriate tools for material handling.
 Training for proper material handling, loading and unloading.
 Provide proper supervision near job location.
 Training to workman on adverse effects of lifting excessive weight.
 Shall provide appropriate PPEs for all (dust mask, shoes, and helmet).
 The provision, condition and use of hand tools shall be inclusive in the HSE Inspection /
Audit Program.
 Users shall be required to inspect hand tools before use.
 Line supervisors and HSE’s shall monitor the provision, condition and use of hand tools.
 The hazards associated with hand tool usage and condition shall be covered in toolbox
talks.
