Behringer products, and can truthfully say I’ve
never had one lick of trouble with any of
them. They all sound/function as advertised,

@Zac. The Metal Core (and a few other Boss

pedals) uses a Roland DSP chip. In other
words, no one is going to attempt to clone it.

Does anyone please know what is the

functional difference between the TM300 and
the GDI21? They both emulate/clone the Tech
21 SansAmp GT2 and I have heard that the
TM300 although (for the money) is a decent
clone, it is still not as clean as the original
Tech 21 device. Does anyone know if the
DGI21 is any better. They sell for $16 and $29
respectively on Sweetwater. Please reply at

I have the the DGI21 – The main

difference is that it has an XLR
output. It has a ground lift switch
too; I don’t know if that’s also
present on the TM300. Other than
the differences in physical form 
factor I I believe that they are
sonically identical to each other.
From the online comparisons I’ve
viewed they come very close to the
 original SanAamp with Tech 21
having the edge in clarity. There’s
not a lot in it for the £€$’s price
difference. My GDI21 soon gets
hissy as you switch up the gain but
then so too does the original

Tech21 device; it’s a

feature/limitation of the original
design. I was a little bit
disappointed in it at first but a little
bit of research has taught me that a
bit of moderation in adjusting the
controls yields perfectly acceptable
results; the best tones are coaxed
from it using the less is more
approach rather than just diming
the knobs into the hiss zone.

Aloha, I have the Tech21 SanAMP

GT2, I certainly am interested in
getting the TM300 or the DGI21!
 While I love using the GT2, it’s
becoming a rare and valuable item
to the point I’m reluctant to take it
out on the road for fear of it getting
stolen.
