What type of research do the words suggest?

Answer: Qualitative Research
[Uni-structural]

Activity: View or continue viewing the video and read the content of the chosen video published @
Please retrieve the link of the video. Then, list down the important categories of qualitative research across
fields…
Answers:
1. Natural Science
2. Social Sciences
3. Humanities
4. Fine and Performing Art
5. Applied Fields
[Multi-structural]

3.3 Analysis The teacher will apply a range of teaching strategies to develop critical and creative thinking and other
higher-order thinking skills. [3]
5 minutes
Research Approaches
Scientific/Positive refers to measurable and observable facts instead of personal views, feelings, or
attitudes.
Naturalistic refers to data collected that represent the personal views, attitudes, thoughts, emotions,
and other subjective traits of people in a natural setting.
Triangulation refers to the combination or a mixture of research designs, data collection, and data
analysis techniques.
The teacher will have to utilize the visualization strategy using the video of the topic: Illustrating the
importance of qualitative research across fields.
The students shall be grouped into three (3) by just counting from one to three. The following groups
of students shall orally read their assigned tasks.
The teacher will remind the students to respect the composition of the group and always value more
on Gender and Development (GAD).
Group 1: After watching the video, the students will honestly compare the Scientific or Positive
Approach with the Naturalistic Approach.
Answer:
Scientific/Positive Approach refers to measurable and observable facts instead of personal views,
feelings, or attitudes while the Naturalistic Approach refers to data collected that represent the personal views,
attitudes, thoughts, emotions, and other subjective traits of people in a natural setting.
Group 2: Based on the presented video, honestly compare the Naturalistic Approach with
Triangulation Approach.
Answer:
The naturalistic Approach refers to data collected that represent the personal views, attitudes,
thoughts, emotions, and other subjective traits of people in a natural setting while the Triangulation Approach
refers to the combination or a mixture of research designs, data collection, and data analysis techniques.
Individual Outputs for Group 3: After watching the video, Group 3 members shall individually
compare the Scientific or Positive Approach with the Triangulation Approach.

Answers:
Scientific/Positive Approach refers to measurable and observable facts instead of personal views,
feelings, or attitudes while the Triangulation Approach refers to the combination or a mixture of research
designs, data collection, and data analysis techniques.
[Relational]
During the activity, the teacher will facilitate and manage the classroom structure to engage learners,
individually or in groups…[4]

3.4 Abstraction The teacher manages the learner’s behavior constructively by applying positive and non-violent
discipline to ensure learning-focused environments. [5]
10 minutes
Guide questions: The students shall individually answer the following questions in
accordance with DepEd's Vision, Mission, and Goals.
What do you think is our topic for the day?
Answer:
Illustrate the importance of qualitative research across fields.
Identify the appropriate research approach (Scientific, Naturalistic, or Triangulation) to the given
research topics.
1. Iron Contents of Oregano Plants
2. Parents' Views About the K-12 Curriculum
Answers:
1. Scientific Approach
2. Triangulation Approach (Qualitative and Quantitative)
Write a summary of the topic.
Answer:
Research is relevant to different disciplines. It is a particular branch of learning or body of knowledge
such as physics, psychology, or history, and many more.
There are important categories of research: Natural Science, Social Sciences, Humanities, Fine and
Performing Art, and Applied Fields
Then, there are also subject areas of Research Approaches: Scientific/Positive refers to measurable
and observable facts instead of personal views, feelings, or attitudes; Naturalistic refers to data collected that
represent the personal views, attitudes, thoughts, emotions, and other subjective traits of people in a natural
setting, and Triangulations refers to the combination or a mixture of research designs, data collection, and data
analysis techniques.
After the students have analyzed the summary of the lesson, they will have to choose the sub-topic.
Then, the teacher will require the class to generalize and reflect on the importance of qualitative research
across fields.
Answers vary…
[Extended Abstract]

3.5 Application The students will explain the characteristics, strengths, weaknesses, and kinds of Qualitative
Research. The teacher asks the students to answer the guide questions using a one-half crosswise.
10 minutes

Answers vary…
[Extended Abstract]

3.6 Assessment Utilizing the laptop and the television set, the teacher will conduct an essay-type test on students and
ask them to answer the activity on Formative Notebook.
8 minutes
Formative Assessment:
Identify the appropriate research approach (Scientific, Naturalistic, or Triangulation) to the given
research topics. And explain the reason why you may get across such an answer/s.
1. Iron Contents of Oregano Plants
2. Aling Bebs: A Filipino Centenarian
3. Electrical Wirings of a Japanese Car
4. Microorganism in a Canal
5. Parents' Views About the K-12 Curriculum
Answers:
1. Scientific Approach
2. Naturalistic Approach
3. Scientific Approach
4. Scientific Approach
5. Triangulation Approach (Qualitative and Quantitative)

3.7 Assignment The students will have to search for the qualitative research study based on their field of specialization
and they shall have to download their chosen research papers which will be presented before the class at the
2 minutes
next meeting. Please browse this link @ https://www.academia.edu/ and type the title of the research. Please
save the links.

Concluding The idea of having an internet-connected router for the students in Practica Research 1 can help them to
Activity engage in research and can easily describe the research study characteristics, strengths, weaknesses, and
kinds of Qualitative Research.

Reflection The teacher and the students need an internet-connected router. They wish to have it this semester.
