1 Prerequisite
To use the QWinLog, the related AT commands of Qualcomm module should be configured in the first
place to enable debugging.

Sending AT+QCFG="dbgctl",0 via UART or USB AT port, if “OK” is returned, it indicates that debugging
function is enabled, depending on the module this command could return error, if error is returning it
means that debug is enable by default and you can skip send this command.

2 Generate and Merge Log Files with


QWinLog

2.1. Configure File Size

The size of the file generated can be configured through the following steps.

Open “System settings”.

a.- Enter the related value to “Max size of single log file” field, so files will be splitted in “Max size”
specified, recommended minimum 50 Mbyte file

b.- If you do not have size constraint you can select “Save log data into single file”, therefore all
information will be save into one file only.

2.2 Configure Log Filter

The log filter can be configured by choosing the appropriate filter file.

NOTE

The tool will select default.cfg by default. If 5G is needed please select defaultNR5G.cfg filter or check
with local FAE recommended filter for specific escenario.

2.3 Catch Log

Click “Start” to catch log. When the problems reoccur, wait for two more minutes, and then click “Stop”.
The log caught is saved into place specified in the “Log path” field.

After that click on Start, please send AT+CFUN=0 in your module and later AT+CFUN=1 after that
continue sending your at commands.

2.4 Merge Log Files (Optional)

If there are several XXX.bin files in same tests, customers can merge them into one according to the file
sizes.
The steps are shown below.

1. Click “Settings”, and choose “Merge Log files”.

2. Click “Add” to add XXX.bin files, and then click “Start merging”.

Once all files added you can click on “Start merging” and new file will be generated with all information

NOTE

When adding XXX.bin files, please keep in mind that the files should be added in the sequence of the file
generation time, or else, the abnormal log cannot be analyzed.
