THE You’ve just been hired as a Sr. Tableau Developer by BankMaven, a prominent
SITUATION financial institution based in the United States.
THE Your primary role is to author and curate Tableau Server content for the organization.
BRIEF This will involve publishing workbooks to BankMaven’s Tableau Server, scheduling data
source refreshes, web authoring dashboards, and delivering content to key users.
All you’ve been given is a folder of Excel files and Tableau workbooks.
1 This course is for users who already have a basic level of Tableau proficiency
• If you aren’t able to navigate Tableau Desktop and perform basic workbook functions, we recommend taking the Tableau
Desktop course from Maven Analytics first
4 What you see on your screen may not always match mine
• Tableau products update frequently, so features and functionality may change over time. We’ll be using a free trial of
Tableau Online for this course, which may look different than your own Server/Online deployment
This course is compatible with Server or Online, but keep in mind that:
• The trial is a free version of Tableau Online, available at
tableau.com/products/online/request-trial
• The trial is only available for 14 days, and will deactivate unless purchased
• Tableau Desktop (Trial or Paid) is required to publish to Tableau Server or Online
Tableau Server is included as part of every license role (Creator, Explorer and Viewer), but with
varying levels of permissions and functionality
