understanding into current world issues and
world politics as well as enhance their skills

and concerns of the century.
Participants will need to research a country,
take on the role of a diplomat to try and find
solutions to important problems of the day.

and enthusiasm this year as well. With

We are hosting it with a gleam of hope and
also urturing it with it an unfaltering

UNITED NATIONS HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL

(UNHRC): Human Rights Violations by State
Agencies

Every person is endowed with basic human

rights the minute they are born. These rights
are unalienable and ubiquitous. These rights
are not granted by the law but are inherited
by all humans on account of their humanity.

The Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is an

intergovernmental United Nations body
responsible for the promotion and the
protection of Human Rights around the
world. The council's role is to investigate
breaches and violations of human rights
and make recommendations on how they
should be addressed. Furthermore the
UNHRC stands for a promotion of our
fundamental and basic rights and freedoms
as humans at an international legal level.

The agenda, Human Rights Violations by

State Agencies, investigates the cracks in
the system and urge the participants to
analyse the violations committed by the
state on purpose or as a consequence of
the state's failure to prevent the violation.
Various players, including the police, judicial
ministers, attorneys, government officials,
and others, can be involved when a state
violates human rights.

LOK SABHA
Agenda: Discussing the concept of secularism
in India in light of Uniform Civil Code

Lok Sabha is the by-product of the mandate

of the populaces in the form of elections and
universal adult suffrage. It serves as the
central legislative body of the Indian polity.
It is the primary platform for debate and
discussion on issues of national importance.

Diversity in India has multiple ethnicities,

multiple religions. In India we can find people
from all the cultural backgrounds who follow
different practices. This diversity is also
reflected in our laws; we have a legal system
based on personal laws that are made
keeping religion into consideration.

The article 44 of the Directive principle state

policy state that it is the duty of the state to
secure a Uniform Civi I Code for the citizens
throughout the country. One country, one
rule is another name for it. The main objective
behind implementation of a uniform Civil
code in India is that it sets a law to govern
the persona I matters of a 11 the citizens
irrespective of religion.

We at DAV Rohini MUN calls out the

participants discuss the concept of
secularism in India in light of Uniform
Civil Code.

GA3SOCHUM
Agenda - Elimination of racism, racial
discrimination, xenophobia and related
intolerance.

The Social, Cultural, and Humanitarian Issues

(SOCHUM) committee is the third
committee of the
United Nations General Assembly, aiming to
help resolve any prevalent global
humanitarian issues that are happening in
the world.

Racism and racial discrimination, xenophobia

and related intolerance all occur on a daily
basis, hindering progress for millions of
people around the world. It is crucia I for the
international community to be aware that at
the core of racism, and xenophobia lies a
reductive conception of the human person.
Such a flawed understanding often stems
from prejudice imparted through an i
nadequate education, which fails to
underscore the value of every person as a
member of the one human family.

Aim of DAV Rohini MUN through this

Agenda is to nurture and promote respect
for the inherent dignity of every human
person beginning with the family - the
place in which we learn from a very tender
age the values of sharing, welcoming,
brotherhood, and solidarity- but also in the
various social contexts we engage in.
