The Construction/Rehabilitation of PAgriculture Roads in Zouk Bhanin project seeks to address specific
rehabilitation and retrofitting needs in Bhanin, Lebanon, within challenging

Safety Plan
Safety Management

Construction Management
Execution Timeline
The project is scheduled to be completed within 6 months , adhering to the WDS (Workdays)
requirement of 5058 as specified in our work plan.
Construction Management Plan
• Project Commencement: Upon receipt of the letter of intent/award of contract, Vertex
Group will establish dedicated teams to commence project activities, including
coordination with the design team, procurement of materials, and submission of
necessary approvals.
• Project Management: A senior Project Manager will lead all principal management
functions, ensuring coordination between project offices, site teams, and suppliers.
Management functions include progress monitoring, schedule performance evaluation,
quality management, and team-building initiatives.
• Project Meetings: Weekly meetings will be conducted to resolve issues related to design,
coordination, material delivery, quality, progress, and health and safety. Additionally,
status meetings will be held weekly to review progress and action items.
• Project Controls: Vertex Group will implement project control systems, including weekly
status meetings and monthly status reports, to monitor progress, track milestones, and
address deviations promptly.
• Off-Site Manufacturing / Procurement: A dedicated Procurement Group will oversee
the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to the project site.
The master procurement schedule will be developed to track off-site manufacturing and
delivery schedules.

Work Plan Integration


Detailed Work Breakdown
The project's execution will follow a detailed work plan, comprising various components such as
General Requirements, Dismantlingand demolition, Excavation& backfilling works ,Reinforced
Concrete, Steel Reinforcement, Tiling Works, , Paint Works, Road Furniture, Landscaping Works, and
more. Each component is meticulously planned with corresponding work durations, contributing to the
overall completion within 7 months.

Sequential Execution
The work plan follows a sequential execution approach, allowing for efficient progress monitoring and
resource utilization. Key components are scheduled to ensure a seamless and well-coordinated
construction process.

Construction/Rehabilitation Phase
This phase includes the following key activities:
1. Site Clearance:

• Clearing and removal of vegetation, surface debris, scattered stones, and topsoil
within the working area (road formation) manually by labor.
• Disposal of wasted material to approved dumping areas as per regulations.
2. Road Construction:

• Clearing and grubbing for Roads, including the relocation and demolition of existing fences.
• Construction of new beams, columns, and metal works as required.
• Manual excavation of road subgrade, widening, and side drain excavation.
• Earthworks including trimming, leveling, and compaction, with excess soil removed and disposed
of appropriately.

3. Excavation for Structures:

• Manual excavation for retaining walls for roads , ensuring compliance with specified drawings and
Engineer's satisfaction.
• Removal and disposal of excess and unsuitable soil as directed by the Engineer.

4. Road Pavement:

• Surface preparation, compaction, watering, and transportation to dump sites.


• Execution of works as per drawings and specifications to the satisfaction of the EIIP Engineer.

5. Sub-Base Course:
• Installation of crushed granular sub-base course, manually spreading to designed levels and
crossfalls.
• Compaction by roller to achieve specified dry density at optimum moisture.

6.Base Course:

• Application of crushed granular base course, manually spreading to designed levels and crossfalls.
• Compaction by roller to achieve specified dry density at optimum moisture.

7. Concrete Works:

• Construction of retaining walls including PVC weephole pipe, drainage material, and specified
concrete.
• Placement of blinding concrete underneath retaining walls.
• Reinforced concrete works for tie-beams, headwalls, and other structures as per approved
drawings.

8. Steel Reinforcement:

• Supply and construction of high tensile steel reinforcement for concrete structures.

9. Metallic Works:

• Installation of manhole neck extensions, including removal and replacement of existing metal
covers.
• Completion of metallic works as per specifications and drawings.

10. Road Furniture:

• Provision and erection of project signboards at designated sites, including manufacturing,


transportation, installation, and removal.
• Installation of signboards for roads as per Engineer's instructions.
These tasks are crucial components of the construction and rehabilitation works, and they must be
executed with meticulous attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with
project timelines to achieve the desired outcomes of improved pedestrian safety, traffic calming, and
enhanced urban infrastructure in Bhanin, North Lebanon.

Resource Allocation
The work plan allocates resources judiciously, emphasizing local labor wherever feasible, in alignment
with ILO standards. This approach not only enhances the socio-economic impact of the project but also

Quality Control in Work Plan


The work plan integrates quality control measures at various stages, ensuring compliance with ILO
standards and project specifications. Regular inspections, adherence to concrete strengthening and repair
guidelines, and documentation of quality-related activities are embedded in the work plan to uphold the

Meeting Workdays Requirement


The work plan is designed to meet the specified 5058 workdays requirement. With meticulous
scheduling, efficient resource management, and a commitment to timely execution, Vertex Group
aims to deliver the Construction/Rehabilitation of Agriculture Roads in Zouk Bhanin project within
