Subcultures are smaller groups within the larger culture that have
slightly different—or additional—traditions and ideas.

Types of subculture
1. Hippie
The hippie subculture began its development as a youth movement in the United
States during the early 1960s and then developed around the world.

trusting anyone over thirty.

2. Punk
The punk subculture emerged in the United Kingdom in the mid-1970s.
The punk subculture includes a diverse and widely known array of ideologies,
fashion, and other forms of expression, visual art, dance, literature, and film.
Punk culture came from British youth culture.
Contemporary street punks wear leather, denim, metal spikes or studs, chains
and military-style boots.
Vivienne Westwood is often cited as punk's creator. Fashion designers like Zandra
Rhodes, Thierry Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier, Stephen Sprouse, and Anna
Sui using punk elements in their production.
3. Goth
Goth is a music-based subculture that began in the United Kingdom during the early
1980s.
The subculture has associated tastes in music, aesthetics, and fashion.
It all started with the song “Bela Lugosi's Dead,” released in 1979 by Bauhaus
characterised by an affiliation to a 'dark' aesthetic. Gothic fashion is a clothing
style marked by dark, mysterious, antiquated, homogenous, and often
genderless features.
Bela Lugosi and other early horror movies –especially vampire movies -
influenced the Gothic fashion movement.

4. Grunge
Grunge subculture emerged during the mid-1980s in the American Pacific Northwest
state of Washington, particularly in Seattle and nearby towns.
The style was popularized by music bands Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.
A key characteristic of grunge fashion is the use of durable thrift-store clothes.
Grunge created a huge social impact in everything from fashion and movies, to
literature and politics.

often worn in a loose, androgynous manner to de-emphasize the silhouette.
5. K style
began in the late 1800s with an intertwining of western influences
K-style, or Korean style, is a popular fashion subculture that rose to prominence all
over the world in the 2010s.
Influenced by the everyday street fashion of South Korea, and especially the style of
K-pop artists
G-Dragon, the leader of BIGBANG, is dubbed the biggest fashion icon in the K-pop
industry.
BTS and Blackpink are two idol groups who have the best fashion sense.
Trends in Korea are cool blazers, slacks, high waist palazzo pants, denim,
miniskirts, jumpsuits, polo shirts, straight-cut jeans, trench coats, padded
jackets, and playsuits.
6. Fairy style
First tales of fairies date back to Greek mythology, where fairies protected the Earth
with vigor and might.
The people of Ireland associated anything vaguely pagan in origin as being related
to the fairies.
Fairies are one of the oldest beings in mythology, also known for their magical
powers, but they also like playing pranks on people and animals alike!

7. Hip Hop
Hip hop is a subculture and an art movement that emerged from the Bronx in New
York City during the early 1970s.
Characterized by people who love rap and truly identify with the message of
racial struggles and poverty that is conveyed through hip hop music.
Bright colors, large pants and headwear were the elements, which inspired the
style of dressing in the early 1990s.

No one knows hip-hop fashion better than Dapper Dan.
8. Surf culture
The history of surfing began with the ancient Polynesians.
The practice was at the core of Hawaiin culture and helped shape their society.
It was a way to select social status and royalty.
The look of the surfer is salty hair, a suntan and comfortable clothes, laid-back,
beachy style. It's cool, it's casual, and most importantly, it never looks like you're
trying too hard.
Bob Simmons is also the guy you could call the “Father of the Modern Surfboard”.
9. Graffiti artist
Graffiti art has its origins in 1970s New York, when young people began to use
spray paint and other materials to create images on buildings and on the sides of
subway trains.
The streetwear gear may consist of comfortable, casual clothing such as baseball
caps, t-shirts, jeans, and sneakers.
Fashion designers like Jaywalking and Manish Malhotra have designed collections inspired
by Graffiti Artists.+

LGBTIQA+ 'LGBTIQA+' is an evolving acronym that stands for lesbian, gay,
bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer/questioning, asexual.

signature tight fitted look , he showcased a collection of velvet and leathers in more
relaxed silhouette.
