Unit1

1 . Do you spend a lot of time with your family ?


I didn’t have a lot of time for my family because I had to go to school far
away but now the disease takes place quite complicated so I almost
only spend time with my family

2. What do you like to do together as a family ?

There are many things I want to do with my family like having a picnic .
with my family , everyone roast meat , fishing , chat together . I feel
very happy and I think this is an unforgettable memory

3. Do you get along well with your family ?

Sure , we always have fun and chat together . They always forgive my
mistake and always listen and share difficulties with me. I feel lucky to
have such a family

We will never betray each other(phản bội)

4.Who are you closest to in your family ?

That is my father . Since childhood , I have been very close to my father.


My dad always take me to school and pampers( paem pơ)me and
supports what I do

5. Which are more important to you : your family or your friends ?

Ohhh, Life would be very boring without either of them .But if I had to
choose , family is invaluable of me. Friends can turn their backs on me
but my family can’t . No matter what happens , family is still a place to
rely on
Unit 2
1.How would you describe yourself ?

In my opinion , I am an open and generous person . It’s easy for me to


start a conversation with strangers . I always help my friends in my
ability .

2.Do you enjoy meeting new people ?

Of course , I do . Although it is a bit confusing and awkward ( ó kợtd )at


first , that feeling quickly dissipated( di-si-payt) . Making new friends
will help me learn more new and interesting things

3.Do you get excited by new challenges?

Ohh, Yes .I love to learn new things and I always want to know what
my limit is and break my limit. It is also a way for me to learn and enjoy
interesting things.

4.Are you somenone that others see as a role model ?

Ohh , I think this can’t occur because I am not a perfect person for
others to see as a role model and sometimes I can’t control my attitude
and affect people around and my work

Unit 3
1. What influences people’s choice of hotels ?
In my opinion , There are two main factors that influence people’s
choice of hotel : price and location of hotel. Usually , people will choose
a hotel that is affordable( ơ - fo- đơ –bồ ) and close to where they need
to go . That will be very convenient for them .

2. Why do some people not like staying hotels ?

It ‘s up to each person , but in my opinion they like the feeling of being


home . Staying at a hotel will make it difficult to get to where they want
to go , the way hotel staff serve can also make them unhappy( if the
hotel is in the city center , it will be noisy and easy to get struck in
traffic )

3.Do you think staying in a luxury hotel is a waste of money ?

Depending on the financial ability of each person to choose a hotel . But


for me , I will not choose a luxury hotel . I just need a hotel that has
clean and comfortable room

4.Do the hotel rating of people influence their choice ?

Most people look at hotel rating before deciding to rent room at hotel .
It can be seen as a way to consult previous people and their attitude
towards this hotel . There by a reasonable decision will be made.

5.When people are traveling away from home , what choices do they
have for places to stay ? What kinds of hotels does Vietnam have ?

They usually travel away from home on holidays or rest. They often
choose places with beautiful and famous scenery (sí-nơ –ri) to travel .
There are many opinion for them about places to stay , they can stay in
hotels or guest house depending on their preferences (pre – frợn) and
financial ability .
Unit 4
1. Do you think customer’s complaints will improve products or
services?

Yes , of course . If customers make complaints , the business will base


those complaints to improve their products or services. This also make
it easier to attract future customers

2.What things do people often complain about in your country ?

I think those are bad actions on social networks . Some people regularly
use words and actions that hurt or offend ( ờ-frend)others .

( For example , if the Vietnamese football team loses a match , netizens


(ne – ti – zần ) will find and comment on negative words on the
referee’s Facebook account )

3. What product or services do people in your country like to


complain about ?

It ‘s hard to say for sure , but in my opinion it’s a matter of


product counterfeiting ( khao-tơ-fịt ). This situation is quite common
nowadays. Fake products sold at very high prices which cause
frustration (fhơ-tray-sần )for people .

4. What is the best way to make a complaint ?

I think we don’t complain when there are many people . It’s good idea
to talk to them privately about your complaint or write them a letter or
text.
Unit 5
1. What are the advantages of living in your hometown?

Gia Lai is considered a free tourist area because of its rich natural
beauty such as lakes , mountains, waterfalls ,…Although Gia lai is not
sumptuous ( sum- pơ – tiu - ợt )as the city ,it has fresh air and is not
particularly congested ( khơn – zét) ,it brings peace and comfort.

2.Would you say your hometown is a good place to live ? Why ?

Yes. Of course. Gia Lai is considered a free tourist area because of its
rich natural beauty such as lakes , mountains, waterfalls ,…Although Gia
lai is not sumptuous ( sum- pơ – tiu - ợt )as the city ,it has fresh air and
is not particularly congested ( khơn – zét) ,it brings peace and comfort.
Especially people here are very friendly and kind.

3.How has your hometown changed over the past few years ?

I think the biggest changes is on the economic side . The economy in


Gia Lai is growing day by day , people’s life are also improving , but
accordingly many new factories and enterprises (én – tơ- praiz)are built
and put into use , causing environmental pollution.

4.What ‘s the most interesting part of your town/village?

Gia Lai is considered a free tourist area because of


its rich natural beauty such as lakes , mountains, waterfalls. Especially
Bien Ho. It is a unique tourist place with the poetic beauty of the
immense (i-men) water, or the spaces with the windy sky, all of which
are gentle and unforgettable.

5.What kind of jobs do in your town/ villages?


Most people are hard – working farmers , their economy is not stable
although they work all year round including holidays . Others trade and
work for the goverment( gơ-vờ-mần). A few of them don’t have a stable
job , usually they work for a variety of jobs to make a living .

Unit 6
1. Did you save money when you were a child ?

No , when I was a child , my parents did not allow me to keep money ,


money that I was given by others , I gave it to my parents to keep.If I
want to buy something , just tell them and they will buy it for me.

2.What do people i your country save money for ?

There are many purposes , they save money to travel , buy expensive
things to be old enough to not be deprived ( đi – praid )and save for
their children and grandchildren

3. Is money important with you ?

Yes , it’s very important . If I had money, I could buy a lot of things . I
can buy gifts for family and friends , take them to travel everywhere ,
eat delicious food , enjoy life.

4.Do you think money management skills are important ?

Yes , of course. This skill is very necessary in life , it will help you not to
be short of money in the future and even if something unexpected
happens , it’s easier for you to manage (me-nịt).

5.Should parents give children money ?


I think you should give children a small amout of money .If you give a
lot , children will easily lose it and children may use that money for
useless things such as top up the game , buy unhealthy food...

Unit 7
1.Do you have a lot of friends ?

I have a lot of friends but I just have 4 best friends . We have known
each other for more than 6 years, although sometimes we quarrel , we
always know how to solve and maintain a long friendship.

2. Is there anything special about your friends ?

It’s hard to answer this question . I think it’s my friend ‘s photography (


phơ – tó –grơ-fi) skills . She takes very good photos, most of my photos
are taken her even though she hasn’t taken any photography classes .

3. Do you think friendship is important nowadays ?

Yes ,Friendship is an indispensable(in-đi –pén – sơ –bồ) thing in life .


Without friends , our life would become dull and boring. Whenever we
have something sad or difficult , our friends will always be there to
comfort (khơm - fợt ) and help us . I can’t imagine ( i- má– zin ) what my
life would be like without friends

4. Is it important to stay in touch with your friends throughout the


years ?

Sure ,In my opinion , in addition to family , friends are an


integral ( in- ti-grồ) part of my life .Although sometimes there are
quarrels( quoa – rồ ) , through them our friendship becomes stronger.
5. Do you think that social media is changing the way that we relate to
our friends and family ?

I think it has some impact . Almost everyone uses social media , it helps
us to connect with distant acquaintances and maintain good
relationships . It also helps us to make many different friends from all
over the world.

Unit 8
1. How often do you talk to your friends ?

I talk to my friends quite often , almost everyday we talk . Although we


don’t meet in person , we call on Facebook to talk together. We often
talk about learning or strange things we encounter during the day .

2. What do you think makes people have a long friendship?

I think loyalty is the main factor in maintaining frindship . Never share


each other’s secrets with others and speak ill of each other. Also don’t
let other speak ill of your friends

3. How do people make friends now ?

Now most people make friends through internet means such as :


Facebook , Zalo ,.. Through them , you can make friends with people far
away or other countries . Internet gives you confidence that you don’t
get when you meet in person

(Maybe it’s shyness when communicating face to face or you don’t


have a topic to talk about )
4. Are friends more important than family ? ( Why )

Both are indispensable (in- đi-pén – sơ-bồ ) in life , but if I choose , I


think family is more important . Family is priceless to me .My family is a
strong support for me when I have a difficult time and family will never
betray me.

Unit 9
1. Do you have any career plans yet ?

When I was a child , I have dreamed of becoming a good English


teacher . Although I don’t study English very well , I believe that my
efforts will pay off

2. What are some of the important things a candidate should find out
before accepting the job?

I think candidates should pay attention to bonus ( bâu – nợt )


and position applied for . Consider whether position are suitable for
your ability . You need to know how the company ‘s remuneration
(re – miu –nơ-ray –sần )is , good or not

3. What do you see yourself doing in 10 year’s time ?

Quite an interesting question . I want to see that I will be an English


teacher , with a stable salary , able to take care of my parents and
especially my own family with my husband and children .

4.Which jobs are the most respected in your country ?

Every job should be respected. From time immemorial


( i-mơ –mó-ri ồl )professions such as teachers, police officers, doctors,..
have always been the most respected professions. But now, in my
opinion, the medical profession is the most respected because they
have saved many lives, especially during a complicated epidemic like
now

5. Some people say it’s better to work for yourself than be employed
by a company. What’s your view?

I think it's better to work for yourself. You can be


proactive( prâu- ék – tiv) in everything, regardless of the boss, have
more opportunities to learn, improve yourself, have your own income
even when going out.

Unit 10
1. Why do some people decide to set up their own business ?

Because when they set up a business , they will have the incentives
( in-sén –ti ) , protections and responsibilities of the state for the
business. The most important thing about establishing a business is
profit .

2.Do you think local businesses are important for a neighbourhood ?


In what way ?

I think They are quite important but there are 2 sides . Because they
create many job opportunities for local people , however, im’proper
waste treatment will have negative consequences for the
neighborhood.

3. What types of local business are there in your neighbourhood ?


They are many types of local businesses but they are only small
in scale (skayl) such as :shoe shop , small restaurant , home appliance
(ờ - plai - ần )store , flower store , book store ,…and so on

4. Are there any disadvantages to running a business?

Yes , There are many challenges( che – lind) that businesses need to
face such as :financial difficulties , capital , number of employees ,
product quality . There are many businesses that have gone bankrupt
because they do not operate well.

5. In your opinion , What makes a business successful ?

Success in business is not easy , I think they should have at least the
following four elements : clear goals, high quality human recources ,
updated development trends , creative thinking .

Unit 11
1. Do you think it’s important to know about other cultures ?

I think it’s pretty important . Knowing more cultures will help you gain
more knowledge , travel more easily . If you are a tourist , this will also
help your work .

2. What do you think is the best way to learn about another culture ?

It would be great if you could experience them. It will be practical and


leave a deeper impression on you . But if not , you can learn through
the internet , which is also a fairly common method.

3. Do you think that learning foreign languages can help us


understand foreign cultures ?
think it's possible. If you learn a foreign language well, when you travel,
it will be easier to exchange and learn. But that doesn't mean you can
learn a foreign language and understand a foreign culture. That takes
real experience

4. Do you think it’s easier to learn about other cultures today than it
was before ?

Sure . Now that the economy has improved before traveling, learning
about other countries' cultures is not too difficult. Especially social
networking sites are increasingly popular, it is easy to learn a certain
country's culture through it

5. How can we benefit from learning about other cultures ?

There are so many benefits. Regarding tourism, if you are a tour guide,
knowing many cultures will make your job easier. You can also make
friends with many foreigners, learn more about new things

Unit 12
1. What is success meant to you ?

Success has many meanings , some people think that success is when
you earn a lot of money , but in my opinion success is when you do
something that you couldn’t do before , and you’re satisfied with what
you’ve achieved.

2. What are the factors leading to success ?

There are many factors leading to success, but in my opinion the most
important factor is patience. Often people are easily discouraged if they
can't do something, but when they patiently do it again and again,
don't give up, the results they achieve are really worth it.

3. Which do you think is more important for people to become


successful ? Hard work or opportunities ?.

I have always believed that success requires constant effort and is only
for those who are not afraid of challenges. Enthusiasm, diligence in any
work will help you. Remember that the difference between successful
people and unsuccessful people is the difference that comes from their
efforts

4. Do you think people will be happy if they don’t have any goal to
achieve ?

I think not. Life would be very boring if we had no goals, nothing to


conquer. Although sometimes it is difficult, but when you achieve the
goal that you set, it will bring a sense of satisfaction and pride

5. Is it important to succeed for the first time ? Why ?

I think it depends on the case. If you succeed the first time, it will help
you get through the difficult period and feel more comfortable. But if
you succeed at the first time many times, it will make you
inexperienced, complacent and have no will to strive, only relying on
luck.

Unit 13
1. What do you think the education system of your country will look
like in 20 years ?

I think students will learn less theoretical subjects and instead practice,
develop soft skills. Science and technology will be applied in teaching
more.

2. Do you think that computers and technology will completely


replace teachers in the future ?

Nowadays, home learning applications also with smart robots are quite
popular, but I think they will not be able to replace teachers, because
learning with humans will be easy to understand and through teachers,
students will develop. comprehensive development

3. In your opinion , how will the international tourism industry look


like in 10 years ?

I think people will rarely use tour services of travel agencies. Because
most of them will make their own plans, choose their own places,
choose their own means of transportation. Because that will be more
convenient and comfortable

4.Do you think that social media will still be popular in the next 15 to
20 years ?

Sure, Social media is growing in popularity and I believe It will be an


integral part of the next 15 to 20. Most people will use social media for
many purposes such as business, making friends, teaching,.
5. In your opinion , where will the future generations of our society
mainly get news from ?

My opinion. people will get news from social media like Facebook,
twitter,... Because it's fast and complete, almost no need to spend
money like buying newspapers and magazines.

Unit 14

1 . What are you planning to do in the next five years ?

I am trying to become an English teacher. I hope that in five years I will


have a position in a certain school, have a stable salary, take care of my
parents or even have a family of my own.

2. Why should we plan for our future ?

Because that is our goal. We will know how to strive, try to achieve that
goal. Planning for the future is also a way to prevent bad situations
from happening, if they happen, we are easier to deal with.

3. What are some plans you had a few years ago but did not fulfill
them? Why ?

Previously, I had a plan to travel to Sapa with my friends. But the plan
did not work because of the outbreak of covid 19, we were very sad but
we still wait when the epidemic is over and continue with our plan.

4. What plans do you have for your future ?

I am planning to study IELTS. I have divided my time to learn each skill


and I am starting to learn listening skill but I find it very difficult. But
with only 2 years left for me to graduate, I will try my best to get IELTS
5. Do you want to learn a skill that you do not have ?

I want to learn to dance. I love to dance but I don't know anything


about it. I really admire when I see you dance beautifully. I want to
learn dance for fun as well as for exercise
