Choosing a theme
• Theme is like a special package that gives our presentations a unique look and feel.

The menu and shortcut toolbars

• The shortcut toolbar has buttons for some frequently used commands.

Showing and hiding the menus
• Click the Hide the menus command to hide the menu bar, leaving only the shortcut
toolbar at the top of the window. Click it again to show the menu bar again.

Understanding slides and slide layouts

• Whenever you create a new slide, you'll need


to choose a slide layout that fits your content.

Creating a slide and selecting a layout

• Click the drop-down arrow next to the New slide command.

Choose the desired slide layout from the drop-down menu that appears.

To change the layout of an existing slide, click the Layout command, then
choose the desired layout.

• Open the Slide menu and click Change

To Insert A Picture: Step 1
• Open the Insert menu, then select Image.

• You can choose an image from different sources like “ Search the web”.

• The Google images search pane will appear on the


right. Enter your search terms to find an image you're
interested in.

To Crop An Image: Step 1

• Select the image you'd like to crop, then

click the Crop command. .

Image Options

• You can adjust an


image's transparency, bright
ness, contrast, and more.

• To do this, select the image,


then click Format options on
the toolbar or in the Format
menu.

Animations Vs Transitions

• Animations are effects applied to


specific objects within a slide (images,
text blocks, bullet points, etc).

• Transitions take place between slides.

To Add A Transition: Step 1

• Select the desired slide, then click the Transition command on the toolbar.

♦ The Motion pane will appear.

a transition.

• The transition will be applied to the


current slide.

• You also can adjust the speed of the


transition or apply the same transition to
all slides.

To Add An Animation: Step 1

• Right-click the desired


object.
• Select Animate.

To add an animation: Step 2

• The Motion pane will appear.

• Underneath Object Animations, a


default animation will be added to the
selected object and displayed in the
pane.

Animation Options

• By default, an effect starts playing when


you click the mouse during a slide show.

• If the object is a placeholder or text box,
the By paragraph check box will be
displayed.

• You can also adjust the speed of the
animation by dragging the animation
speed slider.
