So, you’d like to be
an entrepreneur.
Or you’re considering a career in entrepreneurship. Or maybe
you’re just someone with a lot of great ideas. Whatever the answer,
welcome! You’ve been sent this resource as the pre-work for the
Idea Accelerator event that you’ve been invited to.

It’s an essential part of the programme designed to prepare you for


the event, so that by the time you attend, you’ll be equipped with
knowledge, ideas, and enthusiasm.

During that time, we will work on:

We hope that by the end of this workbook, you’re feeling inspired,


educated and empowered to start your journey as an entrepreneur
(as well as a little bit excited about attending the Idea Accelerator
workshop… if you aren’t already!).

When completing this workbook, try to write detailed answers in


full sentences - this’ll help you feel prepared for the big event.
Part 1:
Understanding the five-step
entrepreneurial process

What is it?
It’s simpler than it sounds! It’s basically a simple five-step process
that will take you through the stages of having a brilliant business
idea and turning that into something real and practical.

How do I use it?


At the Idea Accelerator event, we’ll dive into how to use each step
as we guide you through the process. So for today, just get your
head around what each stage means.

Why use it?


We know that turning dreams into reality can be daunting and
knowing where to start can be overwhelming. The five-step
process is here to give you a starting point. It offers a ‘next step’
for each stage of developing your business, so you can keep
moving forward in your entrepreneurial journey. It’s also here to
challenge you to think and work creatively, leading to new ideas
and capabilities.

To start understanding your own mindset, have a go at this survey.
Answer the questions by circling the option that relates to you the most.
There are no right or wrong answers!

70-84 = a strong growth mindset
42-69 = a growth mindset with some fixed ideas
