Q1) What did you learn by watching this lecture?

John Hagelin PhD is a quantum physicist and president of the Maharishi

University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, and honorary chair of its board of
trustees. The university was established in 1973 by the TM movement’s
founder, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, with the aim to deliver a
“consciousnessbased education”. Dr Hagelin, is also a certified TM Teacher in
the USA.

Major Points learned from this video are:

1. Consciousness

Consciousness is associated with "Thinking" and is independent of "Thinking".

The unified field of consciousness is called “Ohr Ein Sof,” which means
“infinite light.” It envelops, permeates and includes everything: us and
everything outside of us. It is a unique field, a frequency that becomes revealed
as love and bestowal. The main characteristics of consciousness are alertness
and being oriented to place and time and this phenomenon is explained very
well in the video.

We can disclose it only if we are equivalent in form with it. From the most
finite and simplest particle found in the Quantum level of existence, to the most
complex in the material world, a state of/level of consciousness can be
observed.

2. Vedic Literature.

According to Dr. Hagelin, the fourth and deepest layer of explanations, known
as unified field theories or super string theories, reveals the essential unity of
life.

Modern science over the last 50 years has revealed that our physical universe is
structured in layers of creation. This inward exploration is explored in four
different parts, from outside in.

3. Classical Mechanics

It is the study of the world of macroscopic objects that we can see. Quantum
Mechanics is the discovery of the atom. Deeper than the atom is the atomic
nucleus and sub nuclear particles, called Quantum Field Theory. Finally, the
recent discovery of Unified Field Theories.”

They show that at the basis of our diverse universe is a single universal field of
intelligence - the fountainhead of all the laws of nature, and the source of all
order displayed throughout the universe.

Consciousness being " an ability of awareness and observation of the

surroundings to form a reaction within the bounds of state of being in the
material world and perhaps the non-material world each with its own distinct
limitations. Consciousness is associated with "Thinking" and is independent of
"Thinking"

It was a great talk, shows how to combat stress through meditation. It is

amazing how something discovered thousands of years ago and today we are
realising it.
Conscious mind helps you negotiate complex social relationships in your
environment. All these benefits of consciousness are explained very well in this
video.
Q2) What did you like the most in this lecture?

Quantum Physicist John Hagelin in this video has very beautifully explained the
art of spirituality. He starts with deep cosmic physics and then relates it to the
Vedic texts.

Vedic science, like modern science, strives to find and investigate the most
fundamental and universal intelligence principles at the heart of how nature
works. In addition, Vedic Science offers systematic experiential technologies
that, in contrast to current science, permit direct investigation of these
fundamental and universal principles of intelligence in consciousness.

It should not be very surprising that the unified field of pure self-interacting
awareness, the most fundamental level of human experience, would be the same
unified field at the root of all other forms and phenomena in nature.

Dr. Hagelin has shared numerous researches that are done with the human body,
mind and meditation and the results of it have been for the good.
“Meditation, properly understood and practised is a technique to take
outwardly directed attention through the senses, powerfully within, to
experience and explore deeper levels of mind.”

Vedic at the united level of nature's operation, science postulates a close

connection between sound and meaning, or name and form: at this level of the
unified field, nama (name) becomes linked with rupa (form) [10]. This close
connection between meaning and sound, which we have also observed in the
context of the superstring, suggests a profound nomenclature that is both novel
and organic: to name each object or expression of the unified field by the actual
sound or vibration of the field to which it corresponds.

य त वेद कमृचा क र यित य इ ि दु त इमे समासते

Maharishi’s current rebirth of Vedic knowledge has been made possible in large
part by his recovery of the particular subjective technologies—Transcendental
Meditation and the TM-Sidhi programs—necessary to reestablish this
fundamental experience.

This fundamental level of awareness, in which consciousness is associated with

the unified field, is spontaneously produced by the Transcendental Meditation
technique. Next, the TM-Sidhi programme stimulated

The unified field’s fundamental modes in order using the predetermined mental
formulas or sound impulses that Maharishi Patanjali specified thousands of
years ago.
The Maharishi's classification of the Vedic sounds and his knowledge of them
have had significant applications in a variety of fields. This information offers a
thorough study of transformation based on a single field.

In a manner familiar to experimentalists and theorists working with scattering

experiments or Feynman graphs, one can induce a transformation from one
frequency or pattern to another by introducing certain impulses of sound
(specific frequencies or patterns of vibration of the unified field).

According to a set of selection rules and conservation laws applicable to that

level of physics, adding a new frequency or “particle” into the initial-state
configuration results in a completely new range of final-state possibilities.
