 Organizing Files into Folders

Organizing Files into Folders

Folders are like labeled boxes where you can put similar files together.

Creating Folders

To create a folder,

1.Right-click on your desktop or inside a


folder.

2. Select 'New,' and then choose 'Folder.'


Give it a name that tells you what's inside!

Naming Files

 Once the new folder is created, you can


type the desired name for your folder.

 Use clear and meaningful names

Renaming Files

 Select and click the folder you want to


change the name.

 And, choose “rename” and change the


name.

Moving and Copying Files

 Moving a file is like picking it up from one place


and putting it in another.

 Copying a file is like making a duplicate of it.

Deleting files

1. Select the file and press the 'Delete' key.

2. Do right-click and choose 'Delete.

Recycle Bin

• A safety net in case they accidentally delete something.

Finding Files

If you need to find a file, go to the right


folder and use the search bar .

Shortcut keys
 Special keys or combinations of keys that perform tasks quickly

“Ctrl + C” key for Copy.

"Ctrl + V" key for Paste

“Ctrl + X” key for Cut

"Ctrl + Z" Key for Undo
