Autonomous DB Developer Dedicated Faq
Autonomous DB Developer Dedicated Faq
Developers FAQ
On Dedicated Exadata Infrastructure and Exadata Cloud@Customer
Does Autonomous Database for Developers include service level agreement (SLA)
and technical support?
Autonomous Database for Developers does not include SLA; it comes with a service level objective (SLO) of 99.5%.
You can log service requests (SR) to Oracle Support; however, there is no Severity 1 SR support for developer
databases.
Developer databases follow the same patching schedule as regular Autonomous Database; however, there will be no
support for critical one-off patches.
Use database cloning to clone from a developer database to a fully supported/regular Autonomous database.
What are the prerequisites before I can create an Autonomous Database for
Developers database?
You need an ECPU Autonomous Container Database without Data Guard on either a dedicated Exadata Cloud
Infrastructure or an Exadata Cloud@Customer Infrastructure. If you do not have any Autonomous resources
provisioned already, create an ECPU Autonomous VM Cluster (AVM) on the Exadata and then an Autonomous
Container Database (ACD) without Data Guard using the AVM. There is no billing/cost associated with AVMs or ACDs.
Now, you can start adding developer databases to the container database.
If I already have an existing Autonomous Container Database with ADBs, can I add
developer databases to it?
Yes, developer databases can be added to any ECPU Autonomous Container Databases as long as Data Guard is not
enabled.
