1. What is the exponent of 3 in the prime factorisation of 864.?

2. Express 10010 and 140 as prime factors.

3. What is the H.C.F. of smallest prime number and the smallest composite number ?

4. If p,q are two prime numbers then what is the HCF and LCM of p and q?

5. Product of two irrational numbers is always an irrational number’. Negate the statement by giving counter
example.

6. Can two numbers have 24 as their HCF and 7290 as their LCM? Give reasons.

7. The HCF of 408 and 1032 is expressible in the form 1032 m – 2040. Find the value of m. Also, find the LCM of
408 and 1032.

8. Coloured pencils are available in market in packs of 12 each and crayons in pack of 32 each. A girl wants full pack
of both and the same number of pencils and crayons, how many of each would she need to buy ?

9. The set of Mathematics, Physics and Physical Education books have to be stacked in such a way that all the
books are stored topic wise. The number of Mathematics, Physics and Physical Education books are 14, 18 and 22.
Determine the number of stacks of each books provided books are of the same thickness.

10. Find the least number divisible by 2,3,7 and 9.

11. Six bells commence tolling together and toll at intervals of 2, 4, 6, 8 10 and 12 seconds respectively. In 30
minutes, how many times do they toll together? (excluding the one at start)

12. The traffic lights at three different road crossings change after every 48 sec, 72 sec and 108 sec respectively. If
they all change simultaneously at 8:20:00 hrs, when will they again change simultaneously ?

13. Find the least number of soldiers in a regiment such that they stand in rows of 15, 20, 25 and form a perfect
square.

14. The sum of two numbers is 588 and their HCF is 49. How many such pairs of numbers can be formed ?

15. The product of two numbers is 2028 and their H.C.F. is 13. Find the number of such pairs.

16. Player 1 and player 2 are running around a circular field. Player 1 takes 16 minutes to take one round, while
Player 2 completes the round in 20 minutes. If both start simultaneously and go in the same direction, after how
much time will they meet at the starting point?

17. Find the least number divided by 28 and 32, leaving the remainder 8 and 12, respectively.

18. Find the least number, which, when divided by 35, 56 and 91, leaves the same remainder of 7, respectively.

19. Find the LCM of 96(x – 1)(x + 1)2(x + 3)3 and 64(x2 – 1)(x + 3)(x + 2)2.

20. Find the LCM of ⅔, ¾ 𝑎𝑛𝑑 7/2.
