Dear Parents
competed strongly and made the semi-finals for the consolation plate. On the next page youll notice a picture illustrating the road cones that you would have seen on the road outside our school. This is what the council have initially allowed us to do to help raise awareness of our school, speed and safety for school traffic both before and after the school day. Finally, on behalf of our Board of Trustees, we congratulate Kimberly Gray on joining the Board of Trustees team for the first time, and to Jo McLeod who continues her role on the Board.
What an outstanding day we had for Pet Day! Thank you to Bronagh Hegan and Kaye Tuffley for coordinating another great team effort. The weather came as ordered and it was a wonderful community day for our school. Thank you to to the staff and the our volunteer judges who had the hard task or deciding between the amazing effort that our children put into their baking, sand or vege creations or showing off their pets. I would also like to acknowledge the effort by the small but hardy group who helped out at the working bee on the Saturday before pet day. Despite the snow we got a lot of odd jobs done! Thank you to Jeff Hegan,
Lindsay Henderson, Andrew McKee, Michelle Fraser, Barry Smith and Mark Herring. A special mention for our tennis players who have been very successful in their competition this term. Last weekend Ben Clixby competed in Dunedin as part of the Southland U10 team, Ben won all his single matches and the team came second overall. Then yesterday Ben competed as part of our school team, along with Andrew Fleming and Simone Caughey, at the Southland Primary Schools Tournament in the Year 8 and under grade. Ben won all his matches and came first in his section. Andrew and Simone also
