activities that the Product Owner and Scrum Master will hold. Document assumptions
as required to build your schedule.

1. As you enter the first sprint, explain how you will decide what work to take on for the

will you resolve this issue?
4. Assume two developers want to work on the same user story, how will you resolve this
issue?
5. Assume no one wants to complete QA testing, how will you resolve this issue?

Sprint Delivery 1. Mid-way through a sprint one of the developers tells you they have completed all their
work assignments, what do you do as a product owner and what do you do as a scrum
master?
If a developer completes their work mid-sprint, as the product owner, I'll examine the
backlog and revamp tasks if required. As the scrum master, I'll make sure the team
participate to maintain focus on the sprint goal.

2. Mid-way through a sprint a developer leaves the company, what do you do as a product
owner and what do you do as a scrum master?
If a developer leaves mid-sprint, I'll modify the backlog with the scrum master and pass
on changes to stakeholders. I'll support the team through the conversion, ensuring that
the tasks are redistributed effectively.

3. Assume Subject Matter Experts are not showing up to meetings with the scrum team,
how will you approach this issue?
If Subject Matter Experts miss meetings, I'll address the issue with them directly and
strengthen if needed. As the scrum master, I'll commute the impact, looking alternative
sources of information and maintaining team capacity.

4. Assume a senior team member has resigned effective mid-way through a sprint, explain
what you would do as a product owner and what you would do as a scrum master?
If a senior team member resigns, I'll re-evaluate the backlog with the scrum master and
adjust tasks correspondingly. I'll participate with stakeholders to address any concerns
and support the team through the change.
5. Assume the CEO asks the scrum master to redirect effort onto other features mid-sprint,
as the scrum master what would you do?
If the CEO requests a change mid-sprint, I'll discuss suggestions with the product owner
and assess workability. I'll refocus tasks if required, making sure that there must be
clear communication with the team and stakeholders to manage expectations.

1. Assume you get to the end of the sprint and during the sprint review, the client is
unhappy with the progress, describe how you would handle that situation?
In reply to client discontentment, I'd listen thoroughly, collect feedback, and participate
with the team to address concerns in plain sight, making sure that the next steps are
aligned for improvement.

2. In question 1, who would handle the situation, the product owner, scrum master, or
both?
Managing client discontentment during the sprint review involves both the product
owner, who addresses concerns and adjusts the backlog if needed, and the scrum
master, who makes discussion easier and possible and ensures feedback is understood
and acted upon.

3. Assume during the sprint retrospective, a team member mentions that they are no
longer available to meet at 8:30am each day because they must drop off their child at
school, how would you address this as a scrum master?
As a scrum master, I'd prioritize the needs of my team member’s, facilitate a discussion
Sprint Review &
to look for an alternative meeting time, and make sure everyone is informed and aligned
Retrospectives
while minimizing disturbance to the workflow.

4. A security flaw has been identified that impacts the software being developed, explain
what you would do as the product owner and the scrum master?
As the product owner, I'd prioritize label the security flaw by embodying it into the
backlog and integrating with the team to find solutions, while as the scrum master, I'd
facilitate communication to make sure that the resolutions must be effective without
turning upside-down sprint goals.

5. Team members disagree on the technology to be used to develop a scheduling feature,

how would you address this as the scrum master and how would you address this as the
product owner?
As the scrum master, I'd encourage a discussion to understand team members'
viewpoint on the choice of technology, motivate open dialogue, and work towards
agreement, while as the product owner, I'd provide guidance based on project demand
and purpose to make the final decision on technology choice.
