Summary:
Planting trees for the environment is good as they are remarkable,
biodegradable, and recyclable. If we plant trees the earth will get oxygen, trees will give
off oxygen that we need to breathe. Trees reduce the amount of storm water runoff,
which reduces erosion and pollution in our waterways and may reduce the effects of
flooding. Trees purify our air and combat climate change.
In support with the DepEd Project: “DepEd’s 236000 Trees-A Christmas Gift
for the Children”, the P.S. Eamiguel Elementary School Teaching Force together with
the 10 selected Grade Six boy scouts and girl scouts planted the seedlings around the
school vicinity to increase the awareness of pupils on the importance of trees and tree
planting in our environment.
The said activity was started at exactly 8:00 o’clock in the morning at the P.S.
Eamiguel Elementary School Campus. We have planted 15 coffee seedlings which were
given by the DENR. All the fifteen coffee seedlings were planted along the school fence
going to the back of the school buildings.
Each seedling were named after who planted the seedlings and each of them
committed their self to taking care of the seedlings. They will be in-charge of watering it
and safeguarding the seedlings.
A successful tree planting activity was accomplished at around 9:30 in the
morning. Even though the tree planters were tired, they were happy because of their
willingness and commitment for the success of this project.
