    ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

    I. RATIONALE

    Section 30 of the UHC Act directs Local Government Units (LGUs) to issue and
    implement effective health promotion policies, programs, and activities that promote health
    literacy and healthy lifestyle among their constituents, prioritizing interventions that address
    key risk factors to prevent and control disease, as well as to advance population and individual
    health and well-being. This will be realized when Province-wide and City-wide Health
    Systems have proactive and effective health promotion programs and campaigns as
    components of its population-based health services and make healthy behaviors the easier
    choice.

    II. OBJECTIVES

    General Objective:
    To implement the Health Promotion Framework Strategy campaigns and health
    celebrations/observance based on the Public Engagement Grid.

    Specific Objectives:
    1. To encourage various sectors to take up responsibility and role in promoting health through
    the fulfillment of their own mandates and the investment of time and financial, and human
    resources to prioritizing health.
    2. To utilize myriad of resources such as activity designs, promotional materials in
    implementing effective ways to make people and the environment healthy.
    3. To support LGUs in engaging and empowering their communities especially the most
    vulnerable in taking control of their health.

    Defeat Dengue Drive ng Barangay

    A. General Guidelines and Mechanics


    General Guidelines

    Each barangay in the municipality will be automatically entered into the Defeat Dengue Drive
    ng Barangay campaign.

    • The cleanup drive campaign will run for the entire month of June in celebration of Dengue
    Awareness Month.

    • The barangays will be judged by the town mayor, vice mayor, and other identified officials.

    • The judges will make surprise inspections in each barangay over the course of the two-week
    period.

    • One week after the cleanup drive, each barangay must submit the following:

    * A 3-minute AVP chronicling the cleanup efforts in the barangay

    * A poster design of their barangay for Dengue Awareness Month

    • The Municipality will upload the videos and posters on their official Facebook pages for
    social media sharing. These will also count towards the scoring
