WRITER PRACTICE 1.

PARAGRAPH

Open LibreOffice Writer. Set the menus in English.


1. In the header:
(1) Type your name and change the font to "Liberation Serif" and apply Format Text Small
Capitals.
(2) Press Tab twice and insert the date field.
(3) Press Tab twice again and insert the time.
2. Write a paragraph in English of 6-7 lines You must talk about a new technology, gadget or
software explaining their features, the advantages (power, speed, easy to use, price, etc). You
can also write about old invention that were a turning point (DDR memory, WWW,
transistors…)
3. Copy the following paragraph five times. Apply the following indentation to each paragraph:
(1) Paragraph 1: 2 cm left indent
(2) Paragraph 2: 2 cm right indent
(3) Paragraph 3: 1 cm first line indent
(4) Paragraph 4: 2 cm left and right indent
(5) Paragraph 5: 1 cm hanging indent with the rest of the text indented 2 cm from the left
4. Write another paragraph tabout your favourite videogame and the reasons you love it.
5. In a new page copy the pair of paragraphs 3 times (so you have 6 paragraph in that new
page). Apply the following spacing between paragraph:
(1) 0,30 under the first
(2) 0,30 above the 4th
(3) 0,15 under the 5th and above the 6th.
6. Copy the first paragraph 3 times in a new page and apply the following line spacing
(1) Paragraph 1: Single
(2) Paragraph 2: 1,5 lines
(3) Paragraph 3: 0,4 cm
7. Copy the first paragraph 6 times in a new page and Apply the border format to each
paragraph:
(1) P1: Left alignment with a 0.05pt single border:
(2) P2: Right alignment with a blue dotted border and 1cm distance from the text on each
side
(3) P3: Justified alignment with a double blue border on the left and right sides of the
paragraph with a width of 2.5pt:
(4) Centered alignment with a yellow drop shadow to the top right at a distance of 0.20 cm
and a red border at the top and bottom of the paragraph with a width of 1pt:
(5) Justified alignment, 2cm left and right indent. Blue paragraph fill color. Single character
drop cap with 3 lines.
(6) Justified alignment, 5cm right indent. Single blue border at the top and double blue border
at the bottom. Full word drop cap with 3 lines. Include a paragraph background image.
