Letter

The document is a request letter from a youth coordinator to a school principal asking permission for youth from a parish to share their faith experience with senior high school students. The meetings would be held after class for less than an hour weekly for three weeks, and respondents would then be invited to biweekly celebrations of the word. The letter cites that this could help students facing issues like addiction and suicide.

Neo-catechumenal Communities

St. Michael the Archangel Parish

Oas, Albay

February 18, 2024

Mrs. Imelda R. Reamico

School Principal II
Oas Polytechnic School
Oas, Albay

Madam:
Greetings of solemn Peace to you on this Lenten Season!
In response to the Letter of Request of the youth of the Neo-catechumenal
Communities in the Diocese of Legazpi whose responsible is Fr. Paolino Fiocco (an Italian
Itinerant Priest) and noted by Most Rev. Joel Z. Baylon, D.D. which aims for a mission in the
schools endorsed by Regional Director Gilbert T. Sadsad and by Schools Division
Superintendent Nene Rosal-Merioles, may we also request from your good office for an
approval to allow us, the youth of our parish to share our experience of faith with our fellow
youth in Senior High School of your school after class hours or during their personal
development period. There will be three consecutive meetings in the classrooms once each
week for a period of less than an hour. After these meetings the respondents will be invited to
attend a Celebration of the Word every other week after school hours. (Pls. see the attached
sheet.)
This mission in the school may help your students in receiving faith and hope for their
future, especially in overcoming today the many problems they are facing such as alcoholism,
drug addiction, pre-marital sex and family problems which sometimes lead to suicidal attempts
or even suicide. So timely, it’s Lent – a time of conversion, a time for God’s mercy.
Please entrust to us the students/classes who really need spiritual enlightenment.
We hope for your benign favor and support for this religious endeavor.
Thank you and may God bless you always.

Truly yours,

MARK JOHN N. BAÑARES
