Seven Results of
the Anointing
he anointing on you is the overflow of the Messiah’s life into yours.
LESSON 5
T Second Corinthians 1:21-22 affirms this: “Now he which stablisheth us
with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and
given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.”
Let’s look at seven results of the anointing:
1. The anointing consecrates you: “And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons,
and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office. And
thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anoint-
ing oil unto me throughout your generations” (Exodus 30:30-31).
The anointing of God results in eternal consecration.
2. The anointing honors you: “Then washed I thee with water; yea, I thoroughly
washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil. I clothed thee also
with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers’ skin, and I girded thee about
with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk. I decked thee also with ornaments,
and I put bracelets upon they hands, and a chain on thy neck. And I put a jewel
on they forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine
head. Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and raiment was of fine linen,
and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and
thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom” (Ezekiel
16:9-13).
The anointing honors you in the sight of God and men.
3. The anointing enables you: “And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Behold, I also
have given thee the charge of mine heave offerings of all the hallowed things of the
children of Israel; unto thee have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to
thy sons, by an ordinance for ever” (Numbers 18:8).
All that we receive to do is the result of God’s anointing.
4. The anointing gives you authority: “So all the elders of Israel came to the king
of Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD:
and they anointed David king over Israel” (2 Samuel 5:3).
