SSC CGL Syllabus 2024 for Tier 1 and Tier 2: Download Syllabus PDF
SSC CGL Exam has 2 Tiers. In Tier 1, You get questions from Quantitative Aptitude, GI and Reasoning, General Awareness, and English
Comprehension. In Tier 2, you get questions from Quantitative Aptitude, Mathematical Ability, General Awareness, English language, and
Statistics or Finance & Economics.
SSC CGL Syllabus PDF
SSC CGL Tier 1 is qualifying in nature. You get 1 hour to finish the exam. Your score will not be calculated in the final merit list. But, there is a
negative marking of 0.50 marks in SSC CGL Tier 1 exam. In Tier 2, you have to take paper 1 as it is compulsory for all posts. To complete this
paper, you will be given 2 hours 30 minutes.
SSC CGL Syllabus PDF in Hindi
You have to appear for Paper 2 and Paper 3 only if you have applied for JSO (Junior Statistical Officer) and Statistical Investigator Grade-II, and
AAO (Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer). For each paper, you will be given 2 hours.
Till 2019, SSC conducted CGL exam in 4 tiers. In 2020, there were 3 Tiers. But, again in 2021, SSC Conducted CGL in 4 tiers. From 2022
onwards, there are only 2 tiers in SSC CGL exam.
In Tier 4 cycle, there were 2 CBT, 1 Descriptive paper, and 1 Data Entry Skill Test. In Tier 3 cycle, there were 3 CBT. In Tier 2 cycle, both the Tiers
are CBT. Since, SSC CGL exam pattern had been changed, the syllabus had also been changed for each tier.

SSC CGL Tier 1 -
It is compulsory for all posts. You will have to prepare for Tier 1 and Tier 2 simultaneously.
SSC CGL Tier 2
1. Paper 1 is compulsory for all posts.
2. You appear for Paper 2 if you apply for JSO post in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
3. You appear for Paper 3 if you apply for Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Account Officer post.
Penalty for Wrong Answers:
1. Attempting a wrong answer in the Tier 1 exam will lead to a deduction of 0.5 marks.
2. In Tier 2, there is a negative marking of 1 mark in Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3.
