III. PROPOSED IDEA
According to data from the National Renewable Energy
Laboratory, the mass manufacture of electric vehicles has
only a minor impact on the need for electricity generation.
By 2050, half of all vehicles in the United States will be
electric, necessitating just an 8% increase in electricity
generation and a 4% increase in generating capacity, while
conventional vehicle emissions are cut greatly and fuel
consumption in the transportation sector is decreased.

aforementioned concerns to manifest themselves. Since the
capacity of RNNs to estimate SOC is what distinguishes
them as being well-suited for SOC estimation.
The RNN is trained with the data like the current,
voltage, and temperature acquired. The accuracy of the RNN
model in the training phase is depicted in figure 4 with the x-
axis having epochs and the y-axis having training accuracy.
At the 0th epoch, the accuracy is 33%. In the epochs of 10th,

solved by changing the hyperparameters like the number of

The forward propagation procedure, as illustrated in
RNN (1)–(4), demonstrates how the RNN transfers memory
information to the network. RNNs save a large amount of
time when compared to feed-forward neural networks, owing
to their basic structure and weight-sharing mechanism, which
makes them more efficient. According to Benigo, when an
RNN examines a long series of inputs, the information
forgetting, and gradient explosion problems are typically
seen. Bengio concluded that serial multiplication of shared
resources is to blame for the problems he's been
experiencing.

Next, the other two important parameters are visualized
in the ThingSpeak. The voltage and current of the battery are
shown in Figures 8 and 9. In both graphs, the time is taken in
the x-axis and the parameter is taken in the y-axis. The
voltage is measured in volt and the current is measured in
ampere. In figure 8, the voltage increases gradually and
reaches the constant after the time 20:24:00. From figure 9 it
is clear that the current increases gradually and maintains the
constant after 20:24:00 seconds. This graph helps the user to
visualize the battery parameter and aids them to understand
the condition of the battery.

VII. CONCLUSION
This article detailed the design and implementation of
Artificial Intelligence and IoT-based smart battery
monitoring systems for an electric vehicle. The battery
parameters like voltage, current, and temperature are
collected using the appropriate sensor fixed at the battery.
With the advancement in technology, the above-mentioned
parameters are made available on the internet. This helps the
user to analyze the voltage and current used by their vehicle
over one week or month. The SoC is much important for
maintaining battery health. For predicting the SoC the RNN
model is employed. The model is finalized when the
accuracy reaches 97% in training. Then the RNN model is
used to predict the SoC of the battery based on the live
voltage, current, and temperature in the cloud. The proposed
Fig. 8. Live monitoring of battery voltage system also gives an alert to the user if the temperature
becomes high than the threshold. The proposed idea helps
the electric vehicle owner to analyze their battery
performance and also aids them to take precautionary steps
to maintain the battery health and increase the life cycle of
the battery.
