Script 1
Poetry Slam
Narrator: Good morning, one and all. Today, we present to you a poem that talks about the arrival
of friendly alien visitors from distant stars on Earth. The poem is entitled “Visitors from the Stars”. It
goes like this.
Narrator: And when night falls and stars align, we'll know they roam the great design. In the cosmos'
boundless sea, these mysterious beings dance in symphony. (all in unison) Thank you.
Script 2
Grammar Nazi
Narrator: Good morning, everyone. Today we will showcase a skit to enhance your English
vocabulary. On a rainy day at school, the students are waiting for their English teacher to join the
class to learn something new. Teacher enters.
Ridhima: Ma'am, can you please explain what you just said?
Teacher: Sure, Ridhima! Raining cats and dogs is an idiom that means that it is raining heavily, just
like today!
Tarun: Haha! Now I get it! But, ma'am, what are idioms?
Teacher: Let's learn it today, students! Idioms are phrases that don't mean exactly what the words
say. Instead, they have a hidden or special meaning. For example, 'A piece of cake' is an idiom. It
doesn't literally mean a piece of cake. What it means is that something is super simple and easy!
Teacher: Right
Teacher: Sure, Lily! Here is another. Try to guess what it means: 'Once in a blue moon'
Lily: (raises hand) Does it mean that the blue moon is rare?
Teacher: You are close, Lily! It doesn't mean that the blue moon is rare, but that something is very
rare to happen, just like the blue moon is.
War of Words
Tutorial:
Narrator: Good morning, everyone! Do you know what a debate is? A debate is a discussion
between people in which they express different opinions about something. So, let's welcome two
teams: Team A, which includes Sanjana and Shivam, speaking for the motion, and Team B, which
includes Shiv and Vaishali, speaking against the motion. The topic of our today's debate is "Should
children play video games'? (Scene: There are two podiums opposite each other, and each team is
standing together to compete.)
Team A:
Shivam: Hi everybody, I am Shivam from Team A, and in my opinion, children should be allowed to
play video games. Gaming is really a powerful workout for our minds. Studies have shown that
playing video games improves brain function and hand-eye coordination. Not only that, but these
games are a great source of fun and entertainment too.
Team B:
Vaishali: Hello everyone, I am Vaishali from Team B, and I believe children should not be allowed to
play video games as they are addictive. Children play with them without breaks. There are a lot of
sources of fun and entertainment, like playing outdoor games, reading books, etc.; hence, indulging
in playing video games isn't a good choice. Also, they don't help us develop any skills.
Team A:
Sanjana: Hello everyone! As my teammate just confirmed, video games can be beneficial for your
child's growth. Researchers have found that video games can help develop problem-solving and
strategy-making skills. Many video games teach kids how to delegate, work as a team, and prioritize.
Kids often play with their real-life friends and learn collaboration and teamwork!
Team B:
Shiv: Hello everybody, I am Shiv from Team B, and I firmly believe video games promote violence
and induce similar behavior in children. Also, playing video games makes the children physically
inactive, and they no longer feel the need to have face-to-face interaction.
Narrator: Well, friends, let me conclude today's debate. Video games can help us with coordination,
but we need to set some limits. I want to make an appeal to all the parents present over here. Be
aware of how much time your children are spending playing video games, and help them choose
games you feel are appropriate. Thank you!

Script 5
Mind Games
A teacher is checking copies on the stage and 3 Students Enter the staff room. Rahat is crying as she
has gotten hurt. The other two friends have accompanied her.
Narrator: Is it wise to make decisions based solely on emotions, without considering logical
evidence? Probably not, but we all use fallacies to support our arguments in daily conversation. A
fallacy is reasoning that is logically invalid. Welcome to our play on logical Fallacies.
Rahat: (Sobs) Miss. Geetika, I got hurt really badly on the basketball court.
Pritam: Miss, her knee is bleeding too.
Mayur: Miss, It is all Abhishek’s fault. He must be punished this time.
Teacher: Calm down, Calm down! Don’t worry Rahat, I’ll tell the nurse to clean the wound & put
some medicine on it. (Teacher calls the nurse to the staff room & sends Rahat with her)
Teacher: (To Mayur & Pritam) What happened at the basketball court?
Pritam: We were playing in two teams. One of the members of the opposite team pushed Rahat and
she fell.
Mayur: Ma’am, it was Abhishek. Abhishek is an aggressive and disrespectful person. Even his family
is known for their bad behavior. No wonder, he did this to Rahat. Teacher: Mayur, I understand that
you are deeply hurt because your friend is in pain but we must hate the crime, not the culprit.
Mayur: I did not understand ma’am…
Teacher: Right Now you are attacking Abhishek’s character and background instead of addressing
the recent issue. It is a logical fallacy called Ad hominem.
It is a very bad way of addressing a situation.
Mayur: Sorry Miss, I was just angry at him.
Pritam: Sorry Miss, we will not do it again.
Teacher: Don’t apologize to me. I understand you just wanted to help your friend. I will definitely
talk to Abhishek and punish him for his bad behavior today, but remember we must never bring
another person down by assuming negative things about their personality, family background etc.
Pritam & Mayur: We will remember that, Miss. :) Thanks a lot for helping us and our friend.
(All exit)
