Introduction to our system

This project is entitled Simple Online Groceries Ordering System. This is a web-
based application that provides an online platform for the Grocery Store/Shop's customers
or possible customers to order their desired product. The main purpose of this simple
project is to let the customers buy their groceries without going to the shop or store. The
system will list all products with available stocks and the customer can save their desired
product to their shopping cart and checkout when they are done. The system is easy to use
and has a simple user-interface

The basic concept of the project is to allow the customer to shop virtually using the
Internet and allow customers to buy the Grocery items and articles of their desire from the
store

The details of the items are brought forward from the database for the customer
view based on the selection through the menu and the database of all the products are
updated at the end of each transaction.

In this project, the user can easily sign up for free and start shopping. After adding
items to the cart user can proceed for online transactions. The user can also leave
feedback on the site if they want. There are many features in this project which I have
already mentioned above. It’s easy to operate and understand by users. The design is
simple that user won’t find it difficult to use and navigate.

Grocery Shopping has long been considered a recreational activity by many. Shopping online is
no exception. The goal of this application is to develop a web based interface for online
Retailers.

Problem Definition:
Managing your Online Grocery Shopping may seem tricky, but a Online Grocery
Shopping is a part of E-commerce Service System (Application support direct contact
with users).
 Existing systems are not user friendly.
 Admin panel need improvement for getting more options for easy working.
 Online Grocery Shopping searching option need more filters.

Aim:
“To Manage Online Grocery Shopping”.

Objective:
 To perform a thorough analysis of working of the whole
System.
 To study the problems in the System through fact finding
techniques.
 To follow SDLC to develop the system.
 To develop conceptual, logical and physical model for the
system.
 To develop Graphical User Interface (GUI) as per
convenience of the user.
 To implement the physical model, being tested as per the
standards.
 To document our efforts and analysis in a proper
comprehensible manner.
Goal:
∙ The project is basically targeted at those people who would like
to Online Grocery Shopping and have an Internet access.
 Finally Grocery items lovers curious in comparing the prices
for various Grocery items for their selected category.
 To make a database that is consistent, reliable and secure.
 To provide correct, complete, ongoing information.
 To develop a well-organized information storage system.
 To make good documentation so as to facilitate possible
future enhancements.
Need of the System:
There is always a need of a system that will perform to search and buy now Online
Grocery Shopping, online according to service.

Thus, there is a big need of Online Grocery Shopping services, which provides all the
Above- mentioned facilities and many more.

System Environment:

After analysis, some resources are required to convert the abstract system into the real
one. All the resources, which accomplish a robust

The hardware and software selection begins with requirement analysis, followed by a
request for proposal and vendor evaluation.

Software and real system, are identified. According to the provided functional
specification all the technologies and its capacities are identified. Basic functions and
procedures and methodologies are prepared to implement. Some of the Basic
requirements such as hardware and software are described as follows: -

Hardware and Software Specification

Requirements:

 Microsoft Windows 7/8.

 HTML/PHP.

 Apache Server

 My SQL.

 Ms-Office package.
Hardware Requirements:

 Intel Processor 2.0 GHz or above.

 2 GB RAM or more.

 160 GB or more Hard Disk Drive or abov

Scope of the system

The project has a wide scope, as it is not intended to a particular organization. This project
is going to develop generic software, which can be applied by any businesses
organization. More over it provides facility to its customers. Also the software is going to
provide a huge amount of description of every product.

Existing system
The current system for shopping is to visit the shop manually and from the available grocery
item choose the item user want and buying the item by payment of the price of the item. Grocery
stores also offer non-perishable foods that are packaged in bottles, boxes, and cans; some also
have bakeries, butchers, delis, and fresh produce. Large grocery stores that stock significant
amounts of non-food grocery items, such as clothing and household items are
called supermarkets. Some large supermarkets also include a pharmacy, and user service,
redemption, and electronics sections.

Some grocery stores (especially large ones) form the centerpiece of a larger complex that
includes other facilities, such as gas stations, which will often operate under the store's name.

Some groceries specialize in the foods of a certain nationality or culture. These stores are known
as ethnic markets and may also serve as gathering places for immigrants. In many cases, the wide
range of grocery items carried by larger supermarkets has reduced the need for such specialty
stores the variety and availability of food is no longer restricted by the diversity of locally grown
food or the limitations of the local growing season.
