Show pictures of animals.

1. Presentation
Let us talk about one of the elements of music called tempo.

What is tempo?
Tempo is the speed of the song.
It can be fast.
It can be slow.

2. Teaching/Modelling
Let them hear a song with a slow and fast tempo.
Let the pupils follow on singing.

Now, can you give me other examples of a slow tempo?


(Show a video or imitate the movement on how the turtle walks.)

What about another example of a fast tempo?


(Show a video or imitate the movement of a running horse.)

3. Generalization
What is tempo? Tempo is the speed of the song.
It can be slow just how the turtle walk and it can be fast just how the horse run.

4. Guided Practice

Group the pupils into three. Each group will be given a task to do.
Group I

Put a yellow happy face on the line of each picture of animal when it has a slow movement
and a red happy face when it has a fast movement.

Sing the song “Ako si Takuri” with a slow tempo.
