Section 1 Installation

Overview
The Power Generation Portal (PGP) monitors and provides operator aids for
industrial or utility process management.
It consists of hardware and software that performs these functions:
• Read engineering unit signals or digital signals, using:
– Standard ABB control modules, such as SYMPHONY/Harmony or
Melody, AC800F.
– Other foreign modules for data acquisition using dedicated drivers or the
OPC standard.
• Communicate process data (via color graphic screens or reports) to operators,
engineering and technical personnel.
• Provides historical archiving and data retrieval utilities.
• Provides an operator interface for control actions.
• Provides on-line modification capabilities for process parameters, as well as
display or reports presentation formats.
