Company HistoryLong-time friends Glenn Keys and Andrew Walker founded Aspen Medical in 2003, wanting to create a healthcare
company to service remote areas. The duo sought to provide quality healthcare in remote, challenging or under-resourced environments
where there is high demand for medical services. Within a year, the company had secured contracts with the Australian Federal Police (AFP)
and Australian Defence Force (ADF), and one to reduce United Kingdom medical waiting lists. Aspen Medical’s high-profile contracts
include providing health services across all of Australia’s 52 ADF sites, the Remote Area Health Corps (RAHC), the Nursing & Allied
Health Remote Locum Services (NAHRLS), and providing ambulance services in the United Arab Emirates. StructureAspen Medical
oversees a range of subsidiaries domiciled in Australia and oversees, which provide healthcare services to remote regions and areas of high
demand. Outside of Australia the company operates subsidiary businesses based in Canada, East Timor, Papua New Guinea, the United
Kingdom, the US, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Australian subsidiary, Remote Health Corps (RAHC), deploys GPs, Nurses and other health
professionals to remote communities in the Northern Territory. RAHC has placed more than 3,500 health workers in 100 Northern Territory
communities since 2008 and about 80% of the healthcare workers have done repeat placements. Financial PerformanceAspen Medical Pty
Limited saw revenue declining sharply over the 2019 financial year, bringing the figure to its lowest level since FY2010. In contrast, the
company had recorded strong growth several years earlier, with revenue more than tripling between FY2011 and FY2016, before steadily
declining since. Net losses also worsened slightly over FY2019, bringing the company’s net loss margin from 2.6% to 5.6%.Key
