Prepare to Launch
The foundation for a successful launch…

1. Define Your Niche & Avatar


● A niche is that little slice of a bigger market that you can
potentially own. Typically, the smaller and more specific your
niche, the stronger your positioning.
● An avatar is like a character or persona that represents your ideal
client… and you’ll use it to help you get really clear on who
you’re talking to so your marketing will connect.

2. Build Your List


● Your email list is your most valuable asset… and when you have a
great relationship with your list, you have a solid foundation for
an amazing business. You’ll learn all about how to create a list of
people who are hungry to hear from you (and buy from you) in
my “Launching Your List™” bonus course that’s included in the
Product Launch Formula Coaching Program.

3. Choose Your Launch Path


● Seed Launch – this is for you if you’re just starting out, and you
don’t have a list or a product. It sounds crazy, but you’ll actually
get paid BEFORE you create your course.
● Internal Launch – this is for you if you already have an email list or
a social media following, and you have a new or existing offer.
● JV Launch – this is a more advanced strategy… it’s for you if you’ve
already done a PLF-style launch. You’ll use Joint Venture partners
or affiliates to reach a way bigger audience… and get bigger
results. Note: This is rarely going to be your first launch (you really
want to have some experience before doing this one) but once
you have a proven offer, the results can be legendary.

Seed Launch
If you don't yet have a product or a list, start here. This is super low-tech and
easy to put together. You’ll actually get paid to create your product. During
your Seed Launch you get real-world feedback while you deliver your training,
give your students great value, and get a product out of the process…
win-win-win!

1. Create Your Seed Launch Prelaunch Sequence


● This sequence is a great way to get to know your audience and
what they want. The sequence for this content is a little different
than for other types of launches – you’ll see exactly how in the full
Product Launch Formula Coaching Program.

2. Create Your Seed Launch Offer


● Based on what you learn from your audience, you’ll put together
a high-value offer you know they’ll respond to. (No need to
wonder if anyone will buy or not!)

3. Create & Deliver Your Seed Product


● You’ll create your seed product live. You’ll do a series of surveys
to find out what your audiences want to know, and live calls to
deliver the info. Not sure what kind of offer to create? Then you’ll
love the Product Creation Code. This bonus that comes with the
Product Launch Formula Coaching Program shows you how to
create an online program, membership, coaching program, or
physical product your people will be excited about.

4. Prepare to Move On to an Internal Launch


● Once you finish your Seed Launch, you’ll have two things: a list,
and the first version of your offer. Congrats! Now it’s time to
refine your offer and start planning ahead to your next launch.
This one is called an Internal Launch.

Internal Launch
If you've got a list and a product, this is a great way to launch. Use the
Sideways Sales Letter to launch your offer.

1. Set a Timeline for Your Launch


● Your Prelaunch will be 3-7 days
● Your Open Cart will be 5-7 days

2. Create Your Crushing Offer


● A crushing offer is an offer so strong it's almost impossible to
pass up. It's a method of identifying and addressing objections in
a way that neutralizes resistance (instead of triggering those
knee-jerk “I’m being sold!” feelings). There are 5 elements:
i. Deliverables
ii. Bonuses
iii. Investment (+ Payment Options)
iv. Guarantee/Risk Reversal
v. Launch Bonuses

Prelaunch
This is where you deliver a ton of value and solve some real problems for your
audience… and where you lead into making a lot of sales.

1. Create Your P.S. Path


● Your Problem Solution Path. When you teach a solution to a
problem, you deliver massive value while positioning yourself as a
trusted expert. Both are essential for helping drive sales.

2. Create Your Prelaunch Content


● You do this with your Sideways Sales Letter. This is the core
strategy that makes Product Launch Formula so successful. It’s
how you transform your marketing into an event and get
people excited (while delivering real value that naturally leads to
the sale).

● You also use the mental triggers (anticipation, scarcity, etc.)…


These are powerful psychological principles that are biologically
hard-wired into our brains and drive a lot of our decision-making.
Use them the right way and you create a deep and powerful
connection with your people.

3. Lead Into Your Open Cart


● Your Prelaunch is all about setting up your Open Cart Sequence –
that’s where you’ll actually make your offer and start to make
sales.

Open Cart
This is where you open your shopping cart and start to make sales…

1. Create Your Sales Page/Video


● Your Prelaunch (the Sideways Sales Letter and the P.S. Path) have
done the hard work. You don’t need to be a sales magician in your
sales page or your sales video. By this time, people are ready to
buy.

2. Write Your Open Cart Email Sequence


● Your emails are a crucial piece of your Open Cart. After people
have seen your Prelaunch Content, you need a way to keep in
touch with them – this is how.
● Remember to include urgency and strong calls to action in your
emails. All roads lead to the sale!

3. Launch!
● You’ll never forget your first launch. It’s an incredible experience.
And you’ll be looking forward to your next launch as soon as it’s
done.

Bonus tip!
The #1 most important thing to remember when “selling” is that it's not
about the “stuff". It’s essential in your offer to stay focused on the
transformation you’ll help your prospects achieve… and how different
their life will be after that transformation.

JV (Joint Venture) Launch


This is an advanced launch. The results can be extraordinary – you might
double or triple your prior results. However, it shouldn’t be your first launch
(unless you’re super-experienced).

In a JV Launch, you have other people who have already built followings who
are your JV partners. They will tell their people about your launch… generally
they’ll send an email that sends people into your Prelaunch Content. If you
end up making sales to the people that they refer, you’ll pay them a
commission (i.e., a percentage of the sale). All the tracking is done
automatically by software.

1. Identify and Recruit Your Joint Venture Partners


● You should look for people in your niche or market who might be
good partners for you. If they’re selling a similar
service/product/offer, then they’re a potential partner.
● Create your “Dream 20” list of potential partners (competitors,
clients, speakers at live events, influences, google, social media
leaders).

2. Prepare & Train Your Partners


● Prepare sample copy, creative and anything else you think your
partners will need during the launch (make sure the copy aligns
them to your product/offer).
● Set up your new JV’s as affiliates with your affiliate tracking
software
● Train your JV’s on what will get them the best results. Here are 5
tips:
i. Make sure all partners are clear on your launch schedule

ii.
Help them brainstorm a bonus they can offer to people who
buy your product
iii. Teach them about your Launch Sequence, and how to push
their people into your launch
iv. Teach them the importance of mailing multiple times
● Create your JV Email Sequence
i. You’ll be emailing your partners throughout your launch
ii. Secret Tip: use the launch formula in your communication
to your partners to get them excited to promote for your
launch

● Prelaunch (give them the big picture but focus on the next step)

Advanced Launch Strategies


Once you get started, you can take your business to the next level with
these more advanced strategies.

Evergreen Launch
● Take everything you did for your Internal Launch… and put it on autopilot.
● Your offer runs day or night, automatically putting new subscribers into
their own personal Launch Sequence.
● You get more sales, your list grows, and you quickly gain leverage.

Quick Launch
● Great whenever you need a quick cash infusion or have an unexpected
expense.
● You can combine existing offers with new bonuses to generate buzz.
● All you need is a list and a product.

Other Types of Launches

● Relaunch: Periodically run your same launch again. This works


especially well if you have new email subscribers and/or social media
followers.
● Hyper Seed Launch: A variation of the Seed Launch where you
interview experts to help develop your product. Later on, the experts
can help you sell the product by acting as JV partners.
● Live Launch: Where instead of recording your Prelaunch Content, you
stream it live.
● Sparta Launch®: Where you sell a high-end, in-person workshop or
retreat using just a few emails. It sounds almost magical, and in a way...
it is.
● Book Launch: A variation of the classic Internal Launch, specifically
geared toward generating buzz (and sales) for a book.
● Affiliate Launch: Use the PLF strategies to promote someone else's
product as an affiliate. Get paid commissions on those sales. This is a
way to make money with PLF even if you don't have a product.
● Pasare Launch: A type of launch where you release your Prelaunch
Content all at once, and the cart stays open for a shorter time.
