1. Piaget said: The principal goal of education in the schools should be

creating men and women who are capable of doing new things, not simply
repeating what other generations have done".

Life is an unending learning and as we go through the changes in the

world, the living also strive to adapt for sustainability. In line with this, school
education must also be flexible at all times especially change is inevitable
and will always affect the medium of instruction. Jean Piaget’s quotation
centers on the strong necessity of having more creative, innovative men who
are capable of making sound decisions and strong-willed skillful thinkers as
they go through the progressive advancement of technology and massive
changes in life standards. Teachers’ tasks are not limited to the transmission of
learning alone; their function is also to inculcate necessary life skills that can
be used by learners in real life situations. The purpose of education is to help
learners become logical, rational, wise and adaptable and we cannot
achieve this the moment we fail to recognize that today’s learning might be
obsolete. The teaching learning process must always be innovative and
student-centered. Education in the schools should aim to promote lifelong
skills that can handle adversities and dynamics of the environment.

2. Vygotsky said: "The teacher must orient his work not on yesterday's
development in the child but tomorrow's."

A learner has already innate prior knowledge in different things and the
teacher just needs cultivate and add new information and make it a
motivation to learning for the development of the student. The teacher’s
emphasis in teaching is to mold the students to become equip with the
essential competencies necessary for their improvement and mindset to
success in life. The teacher should prepare new ways of teaching not only for
temporary outcomes but also for the students’ progress. Especially in this 21st
century, emerging technology is also a big thing to consider. Teacher should
be responsible in making the generalization of the relevance of the lesson
needed for learners’ applications for their growth and future.

3. Why do intelligent people fail? Explain in the context of Sternberg's

concept of intelligence.

Intelligent people fail when they are not able to maintain resilience,
flexibility for adaptations in their space in the environment and they had loss
their determination or perseverance in critical understanding of things in life.
When a person with a systematic view of how things work was not able to
give maximum efficiency at work and when things did not go with what they
want or desire, they become depressed and hopeless and become more
susceptible to failure. Motivation is their factor for internal satisfaction from a
well done activity. Moreover, there are intellectual people who are not using
the right abilities in some engagements or job. For example, they cannot
express themselves or translate their understanding or theoretical good ideas
in some application or show them in a simpler manner. More reason of failure
is the lack of balance and little or too much confidence for one one-self.
Confidence is a driving force in a person to initiate intellectual actions and
not enough or too much of it will ruin a person (greed). There are many other
reasons why intellectual people fail in life, and emotional aspects are main
cause of it because every actions and decisions are always influenced by
their personal judgments and difficulties.
