 I. WELCOME

Thank you for purchasing our product. We hope to guide you through all the aspects of the module installation and the module
setup within this document (All screenshots are taken from Prestashop 1.7). But if you have any questions that are beyond the
scope of this documentation, please feel free to contact us.

II. INTRODUCTION

Upgrading your website to a new version of Prestashop can be a daunting and stressful experience, but it doesn’t need to be.
Moreover, it isn't particularly difficult to move your entire e-commerce to a different website. That said, there are a number of
factors to take into account and a procedure to follow in a set order to avoid problems with your stores.

We've created a Prestashop Migrator module that will help you migrate or upgrade your website to the latest version in a few
clicks. No more worries about complicated and difficult processes, with Prestashop Migrator, everything will be simple and
easy!

* “Prestashop Migrator” is compatible with Prestashop 1.6.x and Prestashop 1.7.x

 III. INSTALLATION

1. First of all, log into back office of the destination website with your admin account. Navigate to “Modules / Modules
& Services”, click on “Upload a module / Select file”

2. Select the module file “ets_pres2pres.zip” from your computer then click on “Open” to install

❖ Click on “Configure” button of the module you just installed to open the module’s configuration page.

 IV. CONFIGURATION

From your installed module list (Located at “Modules/Modules & services/Installed modules”), find “Prestashop
Migrator” then click on the “Configure” button to open its configuration page.

You will see these tabs below which will be used to manage data migration between your Prestashop websites:

 1. Migration

The migration process includes 6 steps and they are displayed in the top area of this tab.

❖ Step 1: Select source type to migrate

You can choose between 3 types of source data to prepare for migration.

 o Use Prestashop site URL: Please download Prestashop Connector module and install the module on the
source Prestashop website (the download link is given in the bottom of this tab).

This connector module will give you "Connector URL" and "Secure access token" required.

In the destination website, paste connector URL and secure access token received from above and click “Next”.

 o Upload data file from computer: download Prestashop Connector module and install the module on the
source Prestashop website

Click “Download” button to export entire website data from the source website.

After exporting, please download this data package.

On the destination website, select the data package you just downloaded and click “Next”.

o Upload data file from URL: if you store your source website data in other storing website, please enter the
URL to your data file then click “Next”.

 ❖ Step 2: Select type of data to migrate

Prestashop Migration supports these following kinds of data to import to your website. You can choose several data types
you need or select all the check boxes.

Click “Next” to move on.

 ❖ Step 3: Migrate options

(1) Default supplier: Select the default supplier for the destination website.

(2) Delete data before migration: if you enable this option, the old data in your database which has same type with migration
data selected in Step 2 will be deleted.

(3) Force all ID number: enable this option to keep the ID number of source website’s items.

(4) Keep customer passwords:

o If you turn on this feature, a password file with all new plain passwords can be downloaded when you complete
the import.
o If you choose to keep the password as before, you will need to install “Prestashop Password Keeper” module
in the destination website. The download link is included in this tab.

(5) Copy the highlighted _COOKIE_KEY_ of the source site.

(5) After installing Prestashop Password Keeper, please enter the _COOKIE_KEY_ and click “Save”.

 ❖ Step 4: Review

Here in this step we will list all the information related to your migration process. Please read and confirm before starting
migration.

❖ Step 5: Now we are ready to migrate data on your new Prestashop store.

 2. History

This tab stores the information about your migration processes: ID, migration details, execution time and you can select an
action to proceed.

 o Resume migration: if your migration process is interrupted, you can resume easily within a click.
o Restart migration: you can restart the migration process and adjust the selected data.
o Delete: erase information about migration process.

3. Clean-up

If you have a large number of migration history, you can head to “Clean-up” tab to clear these records and save your hosting
disk space.

Select the time range from drop down menu then click “Clear”.

You can find some useful notes to migrate old Prestashop versions (1.4 to 1.6) to Prestashop 1.7 here and other applications of
this module.
