Formulae to solve excel problems.
A sport shop owner bought the following quantities of sporting items at the unit
cost prices (price per individual item) shown in Activity 2
The owner wants to find:
The total cost price of each item bought Using.
This is the price of, for example, all the footballs.
The unit selling price of each item,
which is 20% more than the unit cost price.
The total received (Total Sales) from selling all the items at
the unit selling price of each item.
The profit received from selling each of the items.
This is how it is done (using formulae)
Step 1 Select cell D2. The Total Cost Price is found by multiplying the
Quantity by the Unit Cost Price, given by the formula =A2*C2.
Step 2. Select cell E2. One method of finding the Unit Selling Price is to
find 20% of C2 and add the result to C2 and add the result to C2.
The formula is =C2 + (20%*C2).
Step 3. Select Cell F2. To find the Total Sales, you must multiply the
Quantity by the Unit Selling Price, which is =A2*E2
Step 4. Select Cell G2. To calculate the Profit, you have to Subtract the
Total Cost Price from the Total Sales. The formula is =F2-D2.
Repeat these steps for all the other items. What is the total profit when all the
items are sold?
