Chapter 4 How to Replace Parts

4.1 Replacing X-ray tube head

(1) Ensure that the power switch of the
machine is turned off.
(2) Remove the first slit operation lever of the
head part.
(3) Remove the head cover by unscrewing four
small cross holed bind screws (M4 x L10
painted) below the head cover and two
small cross holed pan head screws at the
exposure mouth.
(4) Remove W1 connector (JAM5P) from the
collimator sensor circuit board (XE07-04).

CAUTION

When you remove/insert the connector, hold the connector part by hand. Do not handle the
connector by grabbing cable part to avoid bad connection.

(5) Remove the Cephalo slit ASSY by

unscrewing three small cross holed pan
screws (M3 x L25, with spring and flat
shim) at the B side of the slit holder.

(6) Remove the slit holder B by unscrewing

four hexagon holed bolts at the B front side
of the slit holder.

- 43 -
(7) Unscrew two small cross holed pan screws
fixing inverter sheet chassis and tilt down
the inverter board (Code No. 60115) shown
in the picture.

(8) Remove X32 (molex8) and X31 (molex4P)

connector from the inverter board and
remove protection grounding #30
connector (molex1P).

(9) Remove four hexagon holed bolts fixing

X-ray tube head and remove the tube head
from the main unit.

CAUTION

Since the X-ray tube head is heavy, carefully remove it to avoid dropping.

(10) Replace the tube head with the reversed

order described above.
(11) Make sure that X-ray beam is normally
emitted into the second slit. Perform test
exposure to make sure that the tube head is
properly operated.
- 44 -
4.2 Replacing mid-beam

screw.

CAUTION

Carefully perform this work to avoid damage to the lens surface.

(5) Insert #10 connector, turn the power ON,

and verify operation.

(6) Emit mid-beam and make sure that beam

perpendicularly irradiates at the center of
the chin rest base.

(7) If beam is not perpendicularly irradiated,

loosen the hexagon holed screen and
rotate beam unit to adjust beam.

- 45 -
(8) If beam is not irradiated at the center of
the chin rest base, loosen the hexagon nut
(M3), move the beam unit to the side,
and tighten the nut after making sure that
beam is irradiated to the correct area.

of the chinrest adapter groove in the normal
Panoramic and Ortho Panoramic mode.
(8) If not, loosen a hexagon holed screw (M3 x

- 48 -
L4), rotate the beam unit, and tighten the
screw so that beam light is almost
perpendicular.

(9) If beam light does not enlighten the extended

line of the chinrest adapter groove, loosen a
hexagon nut (M3), move the beam unit, and
tighten the nut so that beam light enlightens
the extended line of the chinrest adapter
groove.
