CHARACTERISTICS OF ADJECTIVES
Adjectives
In English, adjectives are normally placed in front of the noun.
He is a small boy.
It is a black dog.
He is an ugly man.
Adjectives in English are invariable, i.e. they do not change regardless of number and gender.
He is a tall boy.
She is a tall girl.
They are tall boys. (NOT They are talls boys.)
They are tall girls.

● USING ADJECTIVES
Listen and read about using adjectives.
1 We can use adjectives to describe things. In English, we don't change the form of the
adjective to correspond with the noun.

The trees are big.


NOT
The trees are bigs.

2 Remember that adjectives usually come before nouns.

A white swan.
NOT
A swan white.
