QUADRATIC
FUNCTION
A function of the form f(x)= ax² + bx +c, where a, b, and
c are constants and a ≠ 0, is called quadratic function.

a - quadratic term
b - linear term
c - constant term IF THE SECOND DIFFERENCES OF THE Y VALUES
f(x)= ax² + bx +c - Standard Form ARE EQUAL, THEN THE GIVEN FUNCTION IS A
f(x)= a(x-h)²+k - Vertex Form QUADRATIC FUNCTION.
Examples:
1. y - 3x² + 6 = x² - x
3. y = x²
y = x² - x + 3x² - 6
Answer: y = 4x² - x - 6
2. 8x = 2x² + 4 - 2y
y = (-2)² \ y = (-1)² \ y = (0)² \ y = (-1)² \ y = (2)²
2y/2 = 2x²/2 - 8x/2 + 4/2
y= 4 \ y= 1 \ y= 0 \ y= 1 \ y= 4
Answer: y = x² - 4x + 2
