5 If two interior angles on the same side of a transversal intersecting two parallel lines are in 1
ratio 2 :3 then, what is the smaller angle?
a) 36° b) 72° c) 47° d) 108°
SECTION - B
(This section comprises of very short answer-type questions (VSA) of 2 marks each)
22 (i) A point lies on the x- axis at the distance of 17 units from the y-axis. What are its 2
coordinates.
(ii) If it lies on y-axis at a distance of -9 units from the x- axis, write its coordinates?
OR
The diameter of a right circular cone is 8cm and its volume is 48𝜋𝑐𝑚3. What is its height?
OR
In an isosceles triangle ABC, with AB = AC, the bisectors of ∠B and ∠C intersect each
other at O. Join A to O. Show that:
(i) OB = OC
(ii) AO bisects ∠A
30 ABCD is a rectangle and P, Q, R and S are mid-points of the sides AB, BC, CD and DA, 3
respectively. Show that the quadrilateral PQRS is a rhombus.
OR
Two parallel lines l and m are intersected by a transversal p. Show that the quadrilateral
formed by the bisectors of interior angles is a rectangle.
SECTION - D
(This section comprises of long answer-type questions (LA) of 5 marks each)

If x = 2 + √3 , Find the value of 2𝑥 3 – 7𝑥 2 – 2x + 1
33 Show that (x-2) is a factor of the polynomial f(x)= 2𝑥 3 – 3𝑥 2 – 17x + 30 and hence 5
factorise f(x).
OR

Factorise: x -64x
34 A circular park of radius 20m is situated in a colony. Three boys, Ankur, Syed and David, 5
are sitting at equal distances on its boundary, each having a toy telephone in his hands to
talk to each other. Find the length of the string of each phone.
OR
Prove that the quadrilateral formed (if possible) by the internal angle bisectors of any
quadrilateral is cyclic.
35 The following table gives the distribution of students of two sections according to the marks 5
obtained by them.
Represent the marks of the students of both the sections on the same graph by two
frequency polygons. From the two polygons compare the performance of the two sections.
SECTION - E
(This section comprises of 3 case-study/passage-based questions of 4 marks each)
36 CASE STUDY 1 :
Our excessive dependence on motorised road transport imposes significant economic costs
on society. These include congestion, road causalities, physical inactivity and ill health
caused by it. Cycling could substantially reduce these risks, while strengthening local
economies in both urban and rural areas supporting local businesses and property values.
37 CASE STUDY 2 :
‘Learning by doing’ has great impact in teaching of Mathematics. Students also enjoy
mathematics by activity method. Mr. Paul, a Mathematics teacher has explained the topic of
lines & Angles by taking a very thin wire. He used steel wire and made some shapes at
some specific angles and shown to students and asked questions.
Find all the angles in figure (ii). Also, mention the property used.
He purchases 1.5m wide plastic sheet to cover 12 heaps of crop. How much length of
plastic sheet does he require to purchase?
