LOGIC FUNCTION
The inputs and outputs can be correlated by programming logic functions that are
constituted by AND and OR functions.
LOGIC FUNCTION
FLT n 01 #######################################
################################################
################################################
################################################
Before defining logic functions it is necessary to define areas to which detectors and
modules are attributed3.
The logic functions between the areas are connected by means of the symbols & (AND)
and | (OR). 8 OR levels are available; among these levels up to 96 AND levels can be
inserted4. The areas should be abbreviated like A1, A2, A3, etc.
Example 1:
In the event of a building that is divided in three areas (A1, A2, A3), the alarm of the
control panel can be activated either if area A1 is activated or if both areas A2 and A3
are simultaneously activated. In this case the logic function is:
(A1)|(A2&A3)
Example 2:
In the event of a building that is divided in four areas (A1, A2, A3, A4), the alarm of the
control panel can be activated either if areas A1 and A4 or A2 and A3 are simultaneously
activated. In this case the logic function is:
(A1&A4)|(A2&A3)
Example 3:
In the event of a building that is divided in four areas (A1, A2, A3, A4), the alarm of the
control panel can be activated as soon as one of the four areas is activated. In this case
the logic function is:
(A1)|(A4)|(A2)|(A3)
3
See paragraph Area assignment
4
The dedicated space for the logic function should not exceed the display space
Page 16/16
OLYMPIA PROGRAMMING/USER INSTRUCTIONS
Olympia_programming_16 JULY 2009 Rev. 1.6
Example 4:
In the event of a building that is divided in four areas (A1, A2, A3, A4), the alarm of the
control panel can be activated as soon as all four areas are activated. In this case the
logic function is:
(A1&A4&A2&A3)
It is important to keep in mind the following instructions:
Every OR level has to be in brackets even if there is only one area (e.g.:
(A1)|(A2)) or if the logic function is constituted only by one single OR level (e.g.:
(A1&A2)).
All logic functions have to end with the # character (e.g.: (A1)|(A2&A3)#).
After having completed the logic function press ENTER.
After having set the logic function, following message is displayed on the next page:
LOGIC FUNCTION
Function logic n 01
DELAY 0000 Sec TIME 0000 Sec
OZONE associated 00 OZONE associated 00
OZONE associated 00 OZONE associated 00
The activation delay (A.DELAY )and duration (A.TIME) of the OUTPUT ZONES that are
associated with this logic function have to be typed5.
If their value remains 0000 the associated OUTPUT ZONES are immediately activated
when the logic function is validated and remain activated until the user requests to reset
the control panel.
Set the required values and then press ENTER. Following message is displayed:
In the 4 fields OZONE 000, up to 4 OUTPUT ZONES can be associated to the function;
these zones are activated when the logic function is validated.
In case more than 4 OUTPUT ZONES have to be activated, it is necessary to create more
logic functions, practically similar to the other ones; they differ only in the programming of
the OUTPUT ZONES that have to be activated.
After having set the required values press the ENTER key to quit and save the changes.
5
To program the output zones see the paragraph OUTPUT ZONES
Page 17/17
OLYMPIA PROGRAMMING/USER INSTRUCTIONS
Olympia_programming_16 JULY 2009 Rev. 1.6
OUTPUT ZONES
Through this function it is possible to associate one output module on the loops to each
OUTPUT ZONE (64 zones max.).
As described in the previous paragraph, these output zones are activated after the
situation requested by the logic functions, to which they are associated, is validated.
OUTPUT ZONE
It is necessary to digit the number of the OUTPUT ZONE (from 1 to 128 max.), the loop
number and the address (from 1 to 240) of the output module that has to be associated
to the OUTPUT ZONE.
In this page choose if the activation of the OUTPUT ZONES should occur as a PRE-
ALARM signal (1) or as ALARM (2) and if the associated module should be silenced by
pressing the silencing key.
After having set the required parameters press the ENTER key to quit and save the
changes.
An OUTPUT ZONE can be cancelled only by cancelling the output module that
is associated to it6.

RESET CONTROL PANEL PROGRAMMING
The control panel can be completely initialized by typing the value 1 and then pressing
the ENTER key. This operation restores the factory defaults of the control panel and
cancels the history buffer of the events.
UNIT RESET
After having activated the initialization procedure the following message is displayed:
UNIT RESET
PLEASE WAIT.......................………………………
This procedure should not be interrupted. At the end of the procedure the control panel is
reset and the following message is displayed:
This is the message of the control panel in its OPERATIONAL status, the date and the
time are factory defaults that appear every time the RESET is carried out and have to be
updated every time7.

TIPS AND TRIKS FOR PANELS WITH
LOOP EXPANSION CARDS
GENERAL
In a panel with loop expansion cards (slave cards) installed, program and exclusion data
(relating detectors and modules) are both saved into master and slave cards. In this case,
to avoid misaligned data, is necessary to take in place how following described:
For communication loss (between master and slave cards) or removed slave
card action, during loop discovery procedure, it is necessary:
Exit from loop discovery procedure.
Fix communication problem or reinsert slave card.
Delete all loop detectors/modules (see first detectors/modules
programmed on loop state, to know detectors address and
modules address already programmed from discovery
procedure).
If discovery was started in order to add detectors/modules to
existent plant, delete only detectors /modules that is
necessary to add.
Restart loop discovery procedure.
For communication loss (between master and slave cards) or removed slave
card action, during manual detectors/modules program procedure, it is
necessary:
Exit from manual program procedure.
Fix communication problem or reinsert slave card.
Delete all detectors/modules that is necessary to program.
Restart manual program procedure.
For communication loss (between master and slave cards) or removed slave
card action, during detectors/modules delete procedure, it is necessary:
Exit from manual delete procedure.
Fix communication problem or reinsert slave card.
Restart delete procedure.
For communication loss (between master and slave cards) or removed slave
card action, during detectors/modules exclusion/reinclusion procedure, it is
necessary:
Exit from manual exclusion/reinclusion procedure.
Fix communication problem or reinsert slave card.
Restart exclusion/reinclusion procedure.

Program data are saved, both into master and slave card, on not volatile eeprom memory
(data retention without power supply). Exclusion/reinclusion data are saved, both into
master and slave card, on volatile ram memory (not data retention without power supply).
Then, for exclusion/reinclusion data, the following alignment self procedures are taken in
place from the panel:
When a hardware reset arose (swtich reset or power on reset) on slave card
(with loss of detectors/modules exclusion data), it will send an arosed hw reset
message, to the master card. Than the master card will start an exclusion
procedure of all excluded detectors/modules on the slave (sending exclusion
messages to slave card).
When a hardware reset arose (swtich reset or power on reset) on master card it
will send an arosed hw reset message to all slave programmed card. When
slave cards receive this message they will start an reinclusion procedure of all
excluded detectors/modules.
