Comparative and Superlative
Adjectives:
 Comparative adjectives are used to compare two
things
 Superlative adjectives are used to compare one
person or one thing with every other member of
the group.
Forming Comparative and Superlative
Adjectives
One-syllable adjectives.

Form the comparative and superlative forms of a


one-syllable adjective by adding
–er for the comparative form and –est for the
superlative.

1-If the one-syllable adjective ends with an e,


just add –r for the comparative form and –st for

Spelling rules(d ,ed)


1. We add only “d” to the verbs that end in “e”.
